Founded Nov. 1969 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all
things have become new. 2Cor. 5:17 (NKJV)
“The Test of Discipleship”
Many People say they are Christians or Disciples of Jesus Christ. I am going to give you a test to see if you are truly a Disciple of Jesus Christ. In Christianity, disciple primarily refers to a dedicated follower of Jesus. This term is only found in the New Testament; in the Gospels and Acts. In the ancient world a disciple was a follower or adherent of a teacher. It is not the same as being a student in the modern sense. A disciple in the ancient biblical world actively imitated both the life and teaching of the master.
Question #1: Who’s first in your life? Matthew 10:24 (KJV) “The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above
his lord.” Matthew 22:37 (KJV) “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy
soul, and with all thy mind.” Matthew 22:38 (KJV) “This is the first and great commandment.” Who do you satisfy first
the Godhead, others (man) or self? If you’re a Christian you should be able to say the Godhead (God the Father, God
the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Ghost). Yet, the truth of the matter is for most of us we would have to say self.
We would have to say we serve flesh first
because self is above the Godhead. Why do I say that? It’s because the Godhead should be
first in everything we do yet we make the Godhead second to our flesh, time, desires, (money,
food, lust, and pride!) or the last thing you do in the day. The truth is we should be a bond
slave to the
Godhead and the Godhead should never be second, third, or last in our life.
Question #2: Will you suffer for Christ? Most of us say we will, but when it gets right down
to it, we don’t! We will not fast, diet, exercise, or control ourselves unless someone says we
should. Acts 3:18 (KJV) “But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his
prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.” 2 Timothy 3:12 (KJV) “Yea, and all that
will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
Question #3: Will we live in fear? Again, we say we don ’t but we all fear man. Do you fear when
you fail in your call to be a disciple? Are you fearless for the Lord or fearful of man? True Christians live
a fearless life in Jesus. “Psalms 118:6 (KJV) “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do
unto me?” Matthew 10:26 (KJV) “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be
revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.”
Question #4: Do we love all people? Matthew 22:39 (KJV) “And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 22:40 (KJV) “On these two commandments
hang all the law and the prophets.” We’ve got to love the ones that don’t love us, yet cause us
problems! If you don’t love all people then you’re not a disciple.
Question #5: Are you making disciples and working on witnessing? If
not, then you are probably not a good disciple. Matthew 28:19 (KJV) “Go ye therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Not
teaching, not witnessing, and not baptizing or being baptized then you’re not a disciple!
Question #6: Are you glorifying God? Matthew 5:16 (KJV) “Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” You’re
not a disciple if you’re not glorifying The Godhead!
Question #7: Are you trying to possess the fruit of the Spirit? If not then
you’re not a disciple! Galatian 5:22 (KJV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Galatians 5:23 (KJV)
“Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” You say I don’t want to love, have peace, be
long suffering, and walk in faith, then you’re not a disciple.
Question #8: Are you crucifying the flesh? Galatians 5:24 (KJV) “And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
You have to crucify your flesh daily to be a disciple. The amazing part about
this is if you’re
crucifying the flesh you will walk in the greatest peace and love ever. If
you’re not crucifying the flesh then you’re not a disciple!
Question #9: Are you hearing God, walking in God, and living in the Spirit? Galatians 5:25
(KJV) “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” If you’re not living and walking in the
Spirit and trying to hear and talk to God then you’re not a disciple. To be a good disciple you have
Love God: Matthew 22:37-38 (KJV): “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”
OUR GOAL OUR MISSION
John 14:6, (KJV) “Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way , the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me.”
At long last we have received a zoning change and closed on the
properties at 2701 & 2707 Williamsburg Pike. Praise the Lord! We have started
the beautification process by taking out the overgrown shrubs, bushes and
trees. A big thank you goes out to Mike Brubaker and his son Justin of Bru-
baker Excavation. Mike is a longtime friend and has helped us in prior endeav-
ors. Due to the longevity in the process of acquiring the Williamsburg Pike
properties we have also purchased the Highland Rd. property without a
zoning change. We’re praying to receive a zoning change on that for whatever
we need to build on it.
After the clean-up we’ll start fund raising for the building projects. We have a busy schedule ahead
of us with attaining permits, meeting with archi-
tects, the water dept., the sanitation dept.,
electricians and contractors. We pray you will
continue your partnership with us so that
we can remain debt free and accelerate

Love People: Matthew 22:39-40 (KJV): “And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two command-
ments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Acts 1:8, (KJV) “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the
earth.”
The book of Proverbs spends time talking about Lady Wisdom. Lady Wisdom sends her maidens to cry upon the
highest places in the city. Those that are simple should come to Lady Wisdom to gain understanding. According to
the passages she tells them to eat with her and be wise; forsake the foolish. We often overlook wisdom. It is an
analogy that I personally pay close attention to. She tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Proverbs also describes a foolish woman, a strange woman. She sits in her door urging the simple to gain (her
deadly) understanding. Her waters are stolen, and bread is eaten in secret. Her ways lead to death. She is also
described multiple times and she always leads to death. She hates wisdom; she despises true understanding. None
that go to her return, they walk the paths of the dead. Her lips are smooth as oil and as sweet as honeycomb. Her
end is as bitter as wormwood and as sharp as a two-edged sword. The Bible is clear not to lust after the strange woman. She will bring a piece
of secret bread and will hunt your life. It is her way to destroy your very soul.
We have a choice; choose the strange woman or Lady Wisdom. The strange woman wishes to seduce you into falling for her adulteress and
simple ways. She has the path that looks good. The paths of sin always look good on the surface but always lead to death. When we look at
these passages closely the world makes much more sense. We look at the world today and wonder why people can’t see the truth; this is why.
We have dined with Lady Wisdom and they have not. My question to you is this, “Whom will you dine with?” (Scripture references Prov. 1-9)
Bring Glory to God: Matthew 5:16 (KJV): “Let your light so shine be-
fore men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven.”
