Claire-MarieCuthbertdeliveredaverywarmwelcometothefirstofwhatwillbeanannualStaffAwardsCeremony.ThiswasfollowedbyChrisHenleyandGaryTowardfromDecisive-Elementwhogaveamotivationalkeynotespeech.Claire-Mariesaid“TheEvolveTrustrecognisesthatitsstaffareitsgreatestassetandwithouttheiroutstandingcontribution,studentswouldnotachievetheirpotentialanddeveloptheskillsneededtosucceedandenjoylife”

BruntsEmployerLedAssemblies:Weekcommencingthe12thSeptemberwasabusyweekatTheBruntsAcademywithregardtoEmployerEngagement.EveryYearGroupfromYear7to11hadaninspirationalemployer-ledassembly,organisedbytheEvolveTrust,withacommonthemeonemployabilityskillsandgrowthsectorsforfuturecareeropportunities.Thefollowingemployersdeliveredassemblies;LaingO’Rourke,PendragonPLC,Mansfield2020,LindhurstInnovationEngineers,AvonsideGroup.

BrambleChallenge:ThemultiskilledEvolveTruststaffdonnedtheirscruffsandjumpedintoactiontosupportBrambleAcademywithafewrenovationtasks.Theteampainteddoors,cleanedoutsideandusedtheircreativeskillstore-dodisplaysanddecoratespaceswithbuntingandfestivematerials.AnumberoftalentedsixthformersfromtheBruntsAcademydesignedandpaintedaseriesofcollagesonthewalltobrightenthespace forthechildrenandthefollowingshowstheirdesignsofar:

BrambleChristmasCraftWorkshop:AChristmasCraftworkshoptookplaceonthe7th&14thDecemberforparentsandchildren.TherewasmuchexcitementfromthechildrenastheymadeChristmasSanta’sChristmasSnowmanandChristmastreedecorations.Allofwhichwerefreeandstudentstooktheirdecorationshome.ThisworkshopwasorganisedbyEvolveTruststaffandtheBrambleGoverningBody.

Claire-MarieCuthbert,GuestSpeakerInvitation:Clairehasbeeninvitedtospeakataprestigious#WomenEdregionalconferenceonthe11thMarch2017inCoventry.#WomenEdisagrassrootsmovementwhichconnectsexistingandaspiringleadersineducation.Eventhoughwomendominatetheworkforceacrossallsectorsofeducationtherestillremaingenderinequalities,particularlyatseniorleadershiplevel.ThesituationregardingBMEleadershipisevenmoredireconsideringthefactthatthestudentpopulationisbecomingincreasinglydiverse.#WomenEdwillthereforecampaignanduseitscollectivepowertomakeimprovements,sothatthereisamoreequitablebalanceintermsofgenderandethnicityatleadershiplevelacrossallsectorsofeducation.ItisanhonourforClaireandTheEvolveTrusttoberepresentedatthisconference.

HeadshipInstitute:TheTrust’snewlyformedHeadshipInstitute,adevelopmentprogrammecreatedbyClaire-MarieCuthbert,forheadteachersacrosstheTrusttoworkcollaborativelyhastakenplacefortnightlysincethestartofterm.

TheTrustpromotesaninclusivenatureforourschoolswhereleadersjoinoneanotherattrainingopportunitiesprovidedthroughtheHeadshipInstitutewheretheycancollaborate,refineskillstoensuregenuineschoolimprovementandencompassesbestpracticeandresearchonleadership.Examplesoftrainingsessionstakenplacearestrategicschoolimprovement,HRandOfstedpreparation.

NQTandRQTDevelopmentPathways:Aninnovativepedagogicdrivenpathway,deliveredbytheTrust,supportingknowledge,skillsandunderstandingthatunderpinsstrategicdevelopmentsinteachersnewtotheprofession.Thepathwayencompassesouractionbasedresearchprovidingthetoolstoexcelintheclassroomandachieveexcellentoutcomesforourpupils.Tosupportthisandotherdevelopmentpathwaysforteachingprofessionalswehaveanewlycreatedresearchlibrary.

GoodbyetoColleagues:Ithasbeenadifficulttimeduringthelastacademictermbuta“goodbye”needstobesaidtotwomuchrespectedcolleagueswhostartedtheircareersatBrunts.TheybothplayedabigpartinthetransitionofBruntsbecominganacademyandthesettingupofaMAT-TheEvolveTrust,incorporatingBeechandBramble.WishingSarahNewbold-HillandMickStevensalltheverybestforthefutureandabig“thankyou”fortheircontributionmadetoyoungpeople’slives.
