The Aztecs believed that their world was perched on a giant crocodile swimming in a sea of water lilies.

Family Life

Every Aztec was a member of a clan or family group called a calpulli.

Aztecs Children

A boy was expected to follow in his father's profession and to be a good warrior. He was given a tiny shield, bow and arrows, and tools like those his father’s.

Education

Boys from noble families went to a temple school for three years starting when they were 12 years old.

Aztecs Calendar

The Aztecs believed that time was like a wheel, endlessly turning. They used two circular calendars to keep track of time.
