ABOUTTHISDOCUMENT

This document collects the TASK assessment items for the evaluation of the KeyCompetence1Communicationinmothertongue,KeyCompetence2Communicationinaforeignlanguage,KeyCompetence4Digitalcompetence.TheAssessmentitems,designedbyprojectpartnersstarting fromtheoriginalVINTAGEassessment items,plannedforadultlearners,havebeenadaptedandtriedoutandcheckedduringtheIO2PilotingtofitwiththeschoollevelISCED2andISCED3.

AdaptationprocedureAccording to the Piloting report (IO2-A3) the collected evidences and highlightsaddressedtotheassessmentitemsmainlyrefertotheformulationofthetaskthatshouldbemore:

• concrete,• clear,• detailed,• actionoriented,• interactive,• performable,oratleastsimulated,intheclassroomandinthegivensituation.

Inothertermstheassessmentitemsareexpectedtoaskforaperformanceandnottodescribeaperformance.

Theassessmentitems,then,arereformulatedtakinginconsiderationtheseremarkstogetherwiththemainTASKassessmentframeworkreferences:

• themasteryleveldescriptorsandtheassessmentitemsarecompliantwiththeCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferenceforLanguages,andtheDigicompthatisaCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferencefordigitalcompetences;

• the assessment items suggest tasks to be performed in a context of actionrealisticandrightfortheageofstudentsofISCED2and3;

• some items propose the same task for ISCED 2 and 3, the difference isdeterminedbythecontextofactionandthelanguage;

• theassessmentitemssuggesttasksthatcanbereallyperformed,oratleastsimulated,intheschoolcontextofstudentsofISCED2and3.Thatiswhytheassessmentitemsofferasuggestion,anexamplethattheteachercanadapt.Furthermoretheydonotproposetogenerateproblems,butsuggests tasksthatcanbeperformedinthegivensituation.Thisisthecase,forexample,of

situationsandtasksrelatedtothedigitalcompetence:theitemsdonotsuggesttoconnectdevices,torunantivirus,etc.

• the assessment items are based on a specific methodological approach ofevaluation, that is the authentic task evaluation approach. That iswhy theassessment itemsofferanalternative tomultiple choicequestionnairesandpaperbasedevaluation.

ThedocumentpresentstheassessmentitemsfinetunedforeachdomainofthelistedKeyCompetences.ThetablesshowthenewTASKperfecteditemscomparedwiththeoriginalproposalofTASKadapteditems.

Thedocumentcontains theEnglishversionsand the translations in Italian,French,SpanishandTurkish.

MASTERY LEVELS Thepiloting results recordno remarksaddressed to theMastery leveldescriptors.Indeed, it deserves to underline how theMastery level descriptors, aswell as theassessment items,arecompliantwith theEuropean frameworks,especially for theselectedkeycompetences1,2,4,liketheCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferenceforLanguages,andtheDigicompthatisaCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferencefordigitalcompetences.Thisaspect isdecisive in theTASKassessmentFrameworkthatintendstosupportthecompetenceevaluationandcertification.

The mastery levels descriptors, according to the TASK Framework introduce thelearner in the assessment procedure. According to the chosenmastery level, thecomplexityofthetaskwillvary.

LevelD-initial:thelearner,ifguided,performssimpletasksinknownsituations.

LevelC-basic:thelearnerperformssimpletasksalsoinnewsituations,showinghehasbasicknowledgeandabilitiesandcanapplybasicrulesandacquiredprocedures.

Level B - intermediate: the learner performs new tasks and solves newproblems,showingthathecanusetheacquiredknowledgeandabilities.

LevelA-advanced:thelearnerperformscomplextasksandsolvescomplexproblems,showingmastery in theuseof knowledgeandabilities; proposes and supportshisopinions,andassumesresponsiblyinformeddecisions.

Each key competence is introduced with the descriptors of general situationsidentifyingtheabove listedMastery levels,guidingthe initialselfevaluationofthestudentsthatareexpectedtomirrortheirusualperformancewiththesedescriptorsandtochoosethemostcompliantwiththeirbehaviour.

KC1 COMMUNICATION IN THE MOTHER TONGUE
