Stuttgart, capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg in the

south of Germany, world-famous through companies such as

Bosch, Daimler-Benz and Porsche is just as much a center for

architecture: There are not only spectacular, modern buildings

like the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the new Porsche Museum or

the Residence R128, but also the world-renowned Weißenhof-

siedlung with buildings from Le Corbusier, Hans Scharoun and

Mies van der Rohe. There are also the Stuttgart television tower

from Fritz Leonhard and Frei Otto’s former Institute for Light-

weight Structures, now directed by Werner Sobek.
