SURREALISM.

Surrealism as a movement took shape in the 1920’s, in the wake of the irrational chaos of the First World War. Early Surrealists were influenced by the writings of Sigmund Freud on the unconscious mind, and by Freud’s ideas about meanings in dream imagery.
