Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
Bulle!n Shorts
Making more connec#ons. We harken back to Holy Thursday and
that first supper we now call Mass and Eucharist. That Last
Supper of wining and dining with the Lord Jesus spoke four
verbs: took, blessed, broke, gave. At every Sunday since then,
down to this day, we s#ll take bread and wine, we s#ll bless
them, we s#ll break Body and pour Blood, we s#ll give
Communion. And we give our lives to mercy works; we do our
part to bring on the reign and kingdom of God.
· How will my sharing Communion change my life this week?
· How will my ea#ng and drinking Communion strengthen my
efforts to be merciful?
· How will my dining at the Table of the Lord enrich the world?

SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Whether statues or stained glass, the image of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus can be found in churches all over the world.
Jesus looks down, one hand extended out and another
poin#ng to a heart wreathed in thorns and glowing with
light. In the Sacred Heart, we see both the sorrow and the
joy of the life of Christ, who became one of us out of love.
"Jesus knew and loved us each and all during his life, his
agony, and his Passion and gave himself up for each one of
us ? He has loved us all with a human heart" (CCC 478). In
the Incarna#on, God becomes man. Jesus experienced the
fullness of humanity, including its sufferings.
June 8th is the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
We remember all that Jesus endured for us.
We also remember why he endured it -- out of love.
