SOP - To update Symantec AV Client on Windows 10 or windows 7 systems
Prepared by: Suresh Date: 04-APR-2020
1) Check System information (32 /64 Bit)2) Right Click Windows Icon >> Select “System”
3) Click on show hidden icons”^” which is in right side bottom in screen.4) Now right click on “Symantec Icon” and choose “Open Symantec Endpoint
Protection”.
5) Verify “Virus and Spyware Protection’ last updated date.
6) Goto below mentione URL : 7) https://www.broadcom.com/support/security-center/definitions?pid=sep14
8) Please select 32/64 bit download based on your system’s configuration.
9) Download the appropriate EXE file based on your system configuration.
10)Once Download completed, goto Downloads Folder.11)Double click the downloaded EXE file.
12)Enter the local administration credential.
13)Click “Yes”.
14)Click “OK”
15)Again go icon and cross check “Symantec Updated date”.
16) To update Proactive threat protection go to below link.https://www.broadcom.com/support/security-center/definitions?pid=sep14Go to option Behaviour-Based protection > click on definition
17)Below page will open , download “sonar/20200330-001-SONAR_IU_SEP.exe”
18)Once Download completed then repeat from steps 9 to steps 13 and the check date.NOTE: It will show creation date same as in download page.
19) To update Network & Host Exploit mitigation go to below link.https://www.broadcom.com/support/security-center/definitions?pid=sep14Go to option Network –Based Protection IPS > click on definition
20)Below page will open , download “ips/20200402-065-IPS_IU_SEP_14_0.exe ”
21) Once Download completed then repeat from steps 9 to steps 13 and the check date.NOTE: It will show previous date of current date.
NOTE: For Windows 7 systems to check system type is 32-bit or 64-bit > Right click My computer > go to Properties
