The company hasjust developed Rhino-NC CAM soft-ware to answer increasing marketdemand for flexibility, speed, and per-formance. The product is a complete2- to 5-axis CAM system for CNCmachines and robots that runs insidethe NURBS 3D modeller Rhinoceros.Easy to learn and use, this version ofRhino-NC helps tool and mould mak-ers manage machining based oncurves, surfaces, or solids.

The new software’s graphical inter-face is based on wizards, making inputof parameters to control each strategysimple and intuitive. A dynamic helpfunction varies the images displayedaccording to the parameter selected.

The software comes complete withlibraries—Tools, Materials, and Ma-chines Archive—that the user can easily

update and customize. An innovativemachining tree strategy makes it possi-ble for the user to create an array ofmachining programmes, modify them,and copy or rearrange the sequence ofprocessing.

All Rhino-NC system modulesinclude cinematic simulation andpostprocessing. The generated toolpath can be simulated inside Rhinocer-os using cinematic simulation withfull collision detection. The simulation

considers the upload of the full CNC,of the equipment, and of the work-piece. This allows production-readytool paths to be created without risk ofwrong positioning. Once the operatorhas set up the CNC cinematic, man-agement of multiaxis postprocessing issimple. The machine tool output file ismanaged through fully user-definablepostprocessors.
