• Shipbuilding workshops started in the 18th century : Braila -1832 , Sulinaand Galatzi – 1857, Turnu-Severin-1859, Constantza-1893, Giurgiu-1897.
• Recent shipyards Mangalia and Tulcea were built during the ‘70.

The National Strategy for Sustainable Development 2013-2020-2030 to be applied.
Romania’s main target is reaching the average development rate of West-European states in 2007, by 2020.
The objective is to eliminate the gap between Romania and other EU Member States by 2030.

The top of the first five foreign investors:
-The Netherlands, with 3,130 companies registered and total invested capital of USD 4,61 billion,
- Austria with 4,889 companies and a total investment of USD 3,18 billion,
- Germany with 15,572 companies and a total investment of USD 2,57 billion,
- France with 5,373 companies and an investment of USD 2,42 billion,
- Italy with 24,477 registered companies a total investment reaching USD 1,245 billion.
Romanian economy continued its ascending trend in 2007, GDP increased by 6%, the consumer price index(CPI) - 6,57% and the unemployment rate - 6,4%.
The forecasts for GDP indicate an increase of 6.5% in 2008, then a slight decline to 6.1% in 2009 and 5.8%in 2010.
