Parkinson Disease: The Basics and Beyond Jeremy Otte, Director of Outreach & Education, Wisconsin Parkinson Association Learn the signs and symptoms of Parkinson disease, how it is diagnosed and the current treatment options.
Discuss local programs and resources for people with Parkinson disease. 3. Therapeutic Benefits of Massage Maryann Dolson, Licensed Massage Therapist and Body Worker Learn about the therapeutic benefits of massage for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. 4. Finding Healing When There is No Cure

Dementia and Driving Steve Pazynski, Medical Review Supervisor, Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles Discuss basic myths about aging, driving and different age related changes. Learn how the DMV makes
exceptions and what a family member/general public can do if someone shows signs of unsafe driving. Exercises for Everyone

Learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. 8. Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and Dementia Jody Krainer, Dementia Diagnostic Clinic Network Manager, WI Alzheimer’s Institute, UW-Madison An overview of diagnosing dementia, and identifying the additional challenges faced by those living with an
intellectual developmental disability. Strategies will be suggested to overcome some of the challenges. 9. Compassion Fatigue and Caregiver Burnout Rachel M. Kummer, & John P. Former Gov. Martin J. Schreiber will candidly describe challenges he has experienced and missteps he has made as a 10+ year caregiver for his wife, who lives with Alzheimer’s. He will highlight how compassion and humor provide comfort, and offer practical advice.
