The San Francisco chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a professional network of over300 members in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is part of a huge international communications network.
IABC's membership spans the continuum of business communications, and includes specialists in corporate communications, marketing, public relations, employee communications, media, government affairs, design, multimedia, advertising, online communications and related areas. Chapter members work for a range of organizations throughout the Bay Area, including large corporations, startups, public agencies and nonprofits, and many are independent consultants or own their own firms. We welcome everyone interested in the broad and exciting field of communications — from students investigating career options to seasoned professionals.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
• Independent Communicators’ Roundtable — Designed to help independent

sharpening client presentation skills or taking a hard look at professional ethics.
It’s held on the second Thursday of the month, alternating between a San Francisco
location, 8:30–10 a.m., and an East Bay restaurant venue, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Monthly Member Event — This is a general event for members, featuring
communications experts and panel presentations; held both after work and at
lunchtime at San Francisco and East Bay venues.
• Monthly Mixer — Connect with other communicators at a cool, local venue. This
is a no-host evening event, held after work from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., or later!
• Networking Nine — This invitation-only event, a working dinner or lunch for seven
to eight members, is hosted by a chapter member and features great food and
conversation with fellow communications professionals.
