The late Sir Donald Bradman isstill remembered as the

world’s greatest batsman. However,in the cricketing world, of today, Iwould crown Kumar Sangakkara asthe greatest.

He not only excelled asa batsman, but he alsobrought pro-fessional-ism, andclass, toeverythingthat he did

as a cricketer. Now that he has

retired, he will, nodoubt, be greatly missedby cricket fans, the worldover. These are some of the

thoughts, expressed by across section of folks, connected with the enter-tainment scene, on thegreat Sangakkara.

= Sohan Weerasinghe(Singer / Entertainer)Kumar Sangakkara is a

role model for all SriLankans. I know how simple, and dedicated, and focused, heis, as, till quite recently, my

son,Darshan, was involved as thetrainer of the national team. I aman avid cricket fan and have seenmany of his innings, and he is adelight to watch, and when he is infull swing, he is sheer poetry inmotion. No, no high commission-

er’s post for him. We need him tobe an ambassador for world crick-et.

= Corrine Almeida (Singer /Entertainer)Sanga, you gave, not only to Sri

Lanka, but to the rest of the world,as well, your best. And every bit ofit is greatly appreciated. We loveyou and we are very proud of you.Now sit back, relax and enjoy yourfamily life. Good luck.

=Alston Koch (Singer / Actor/ Entertainer)I have met Kumar many times,

through my involvement, not onlyas Ambassador for Tourism, butalso when I was appointed to thecommittee for the World CupTournament, in 2011, and later as'Goodwill Ambassador' for the sametournament. Always the first playerto walk up to me and shake myhand, after each rendition of theNational Anthem, at the interna-tional games, Kumar is the perenni-al 'Mr Nice Guy' and, having sharedmany quiet discussions, I firmlybelieve he is more than qualified'for the job as High Commissionerfor Sri Lanka – in any part of theworld.

=Madu Awanthi(Photographic Model / BeautyTips Writer)It’s a pity to see Kumar

Sangakkara retire from the cricketscene when he still has a lot to offer, especially as a batsman. I guess hisfamily life is now very important tohim, so we need to thank him forhis amazing contribution to cricket.Thank you, Kumar, and all the verybest for your future plans.

=Rajiv Sebastian (Singer /Entertainer)In Kumar Sangakkara, we had

the most presentable captain ever, with his speech and his behavior. And, as a batsman, he was dynamic.
