Be a more active part of the most important hour of your week: become a liturgical minister! ♦ Eucharistic Ministers - help distribute Holy Communion during Mass ♦ Greeters - say ‘hello’ and greet fellow parishioners as they arrive. Open doors, and help distribute Bulletins ♦ Readers - proclaim the Word of God ♦ Music Ministers - lead singing during Mass ♦ Altar Servers - assist the Priest during Mass
Did you know there are few ‘restrictions’ for any of these ministries? Your willingness to serve is foremost. Please know that you are needed!
Contact Alex at Alex@stangelamerici.org or 655-4160 ext. 26
My dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
What an amazing, joyful decade it has been in the rosary of life! With love and support of each other our gifts were/are able to flourish. It has been such a blessing to serve our Church and our Lord with all of you. I remain inspired by your presence. God is indeed among us.
My new parish will be St. Theresa's Catholic Church located in Kihei(city), Maui(island), Hawaii(state). Kihei(kee-hay) could almost be considered the Pacific Grove of Maui: quaint hometown with about 20,000 residents. I will begin my ministry there in November.
My last Sunday here will be September 30th, but you will always be 'family'. You will always be a part of me as I hope I will be a part of St. Angela Merici. In the meantime, please pray that God will send St. Angela Merici the person we need and who needs us.
In Hawaiian, 'Mahalo' (mah-hah-loh), is used to say 'thank you', but it goes beyond just that. It is almost undefinable and indescribable for it must be experienced. Both 'Aloha' and 'Mahalo' are acknowledgements of the Divinity that dwells within and without. So basically, 'ma ('in') ha ('breath') lo(presence, front, face)' conveys "May you be in (Divine) breath." That is what I express to you-Deep gratitude beyond measure bundled with the love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Mahalo, Alex
Music is an integral par t of every liturgical celebration at St. Angela Mer ici. There are many ways to be involved in the Music Ministry. The first and most important opportunity is through the “full, active and conscious” participation in the assembly. We encourage you to sing in a clear, strong voice while you are at liturgy. St. Augustine teaches “those who sing once, pray twice.” The choir is always looking for new members to help inspire the assembly every week. Rehearsals take place Thursday evenings at 6:30pm Our cantors provide musical leadership at all liturgies of the parish. An audition and interview is required. One should be able to read music and have a pleasant voice to be a cantor. Special training will provided as required. We are always looking for instrumentalists to play in our liturgies. Instrumentalists are used with the piano to Accompany and assist the assembly in their participation in the liturgy. Anyone interested is invited to contact Alex! Ph. 831-655-4160 ext. 26 or alex@stangelamerici.org or see her after any Mass!
Employment Opportunity St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store is looking to employ someone who is interested in a full-time, 40 hours,
5 day per week position.
Please call Ron or Beth at (831) 642-9387
