1. Remove front cover

11. Refit cover. Ensure Cover screws are sufficiently tightenedto remove paint under screw head to enable earth continuityof cover to base.

12. Label Positions. Open hinged cover and fit required labels includingMain Switch and circuit identification adjacent to the associateddevices or in positions shown. Ensure Door is shut once installationis completed to maintain fire integrity.

All Consumer units must meet the requirements of regulation 421.1.201 in BS7671:2008 (Amendment 3 from January 1st 2016).

3. Secure unit to wall using minimum No.8 screws. Take careto avoid brick dust or other debris entering the device.NB: DIN rail can be removed if required.For uneven walls the top 2 and lower central holecan be used.DIN Rails with centre support have to be slidsideways to disengage from centre support whenremoving & replacing to base.

4. If previously removed, refit DIN rail and re-connect neutral cable to neutral terminal bar. It is essential that ALL connections are made correctly and tightened in accordance with item 9below and that screws are correctly tightened against conductors NOT the conductor insulation. Prepare and locate main incoming cables as desired. For split-load remove the relevantU shaped neutral link(s) and fit the appropriate cable kit as illustrated in the typical configurations below. Other configurations are possible contact MK Technical Services.

5. Fit required devices by

clipping onto DIN rail.

b. Fit busbar. Cut busbar cover to suit busbar lengthsrequired. Pushfit cover to busbar ensuring all of thebusbar (excluding tangs is covered).

2. Remove only the minimum number of relevant knockouts forthe incoming/outgoing cables.

IMPORTANTInsulated Units:All cut outs are to bescored prior to removal.

10. Test in accordance with the current edition of the IET wiring regulations.

6.Remove busbar from inside unit and configure to desired length (including 'ways' for circuits to be added at a later date)

Cut as desired

Length equal tonumber of requiredMCB’s plus 1 fingerfor main incomer.

Discard piece between fingers.Ensure entire portion between

score marks is removed.

8. It is essential that connections are made correctlyand tightened in accordance with items 4 and 9.Note: This unit is not suitable for the connectionof aluminium conductors.

9. Ensure ALL connections are fully tightened asspecified below.

It is essential that the installer takes precautions to ensure that theIP rating and fire integrity of the consumer unit is maintained uponcompletion of the installation.For connecting to the consumer unit, MK Electric recommends thatnon- flame propagating trunking or conduit is used that complies withBS EN 50085 or BS EN 61386 e.g. Steel conduit, MK Egatube conduitor MK Ega mini-trunking ranges.
