How to log on and save

• Left Click on start• Go to Networked

Applications• Administrative

Software• Scientia Timetabling• Scientia 3.6 and enter

Logging in for the first time

• It will then ask you to “select an image file to open”

• Click into browse

• Find the image that I have sent you and open

• You will then be asked to select a language, leave it as English UK and OK

• Under course planner setup, select scheduling database and OK

• Scheduling database server, leave scientia in the “SDB Server box” and in the SDB Services file delete SDB and enter live0809, no spaces. Then ok.

• You will be asked if you want to save an image file not say “NO”.

• Then Connect

• You will be asked for your username and password enter these and connect.

• You will then be connected to the database.

• Once the system has finished fetching the data, you can then start using the system.

Saving

• Once you have finished using the system and you are ready to save the data go to file and save as.

• You will be asked which format you wish to save the file in, firstly select Syllabus Plus in the format drop down list and browse.

• Find the location in which you wish to save the file under and save.

• It will take you back to this screen just click on save.

• Once the progress bar is complete it will ask you to close click on this.

• Then you will need to save an image. Go to file and save as again.

• Change the format field to image and browse.

• Find the location in which you want to save this file enter live0809.img and save. You will need to overwrite this file each night. Do not save a new one each day due to the size of the file.

• It will then take you back to this screen again select save.

• It will take you to this screen, if you wish to enter back into the system click on connect.

• If you wish to log out click on the X in the right hand corner.

When you want to log in again, the short cut.

• The next time that you want to log in find the programme and it will ask you to select an image file to open.

• Click browse

• Find the image file that you had saved previous and Open.

• It will take you to this screen, click on connect.

• Your username will already be entered, just enter you password and connect.

• It will then take you into the system.
