Zhang Heng (25 -220 AD).

• Zhang Heng invented an early but efficient seismograph which could detect the direction of an earthquake up to 500 km (310 miles) away.

Sushruta (600 BC)• is considered the father of surgery.• Sushruta demonstrated

knowledge of the circulation of blood and lymph and of the arteries.

• He connected obesity with heart disorders and diabetes, recommending physical activity in order to cure it.

• Sushruta laid the foundation for plastic surgery and related various methods for covering physical defects using skin grafts and other methods

Abu Al-Qasim (936-1013 AD)
