  • Day 1: Our pilgrimage begins as we depart from (local airport) for an overnight flight to Scotland.Day 2: Transfer via motorcoach from Glasgow airport to our hotel. Afternoon tour of Glasgow, including George Square and nearby Glasgow Cathedral. Before dinner well have the opputunity to gather for Mass celebrated by our Spiritual Director in the church of St. Simon. Dinner.Overnight Glasgow, ScotlandDay 3: Well travel alongside the famous Loch Lomond. Continue through Fort William and stop at the Spean Bridge Woollen Mill. At Fort Augustus, well take a cruise on Loch Ness to keep an eye out for Nessie. Before heading to our hotel in Strathpeffer we will participate in Holy Mass at St. Marys Catholic Church in Inverness. Dinner tonight along with Scottish music. Dinner. Overnight Strathpeffer, ScotlandDay 4: Today, we visit the Culloden Visitor Centre to learn about the Battle of Culloden where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated by the British army in 1746. We then drive to Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry to sample the whisky distilled there. Continue south to Fife to visit the Shrine of St. Margaret at Dunfermline Abbey. Dinner. Overnight Edinburgh, ScotlandDay 5: This morning, we tour Edinburgh preceeding along Princes Street and through the gra-cious, wide streets of the 200-year-old Georgian New Town. Next, well visit Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the city and contains the Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Scone. Following our visit to the castole, we will visit the National Shrine of St. Andrew which is part of St. Marys Cathedral. There, we will have the opportunity to venerate the relics of St. Andrew and particpate in Mass. Dinner. Overnight Edinburgh, ScotlandDay 6: Following breakfast, we visit is Melrose Abbey which was founded in 1136 by the Cistercian monks. We then journey past the gentle hills and sheep pastures of the Scottish Borders as we drive through Lake District National Park. Before arriving in Bowness, we will visit the Holme Cultram Abbey, which was also founded by the Cistercian Monks in 1150. While there, our our Spiritual Director will have the oputunity to celebrate Mass. Dinner. Overnight Bowness, EnglandDay 7: Today, we drive into the Yorkshire Dales to experience scenic Heathery Moors and ancient stone villages. Well stop in the traditional village of Hawes before continuing through the region, which was made famous by James Herriots books, including All Creatures Great and Small. Well visit York to see Roman and medieval walls and York Minster, one of Europes largest Gothic cathedrals. Prior to dinner, we will visit St. Wilfrids Church for Mass and view the shrine of St. Margaret Clitherow. Dinner. Overnight York, EnglandDay 8: Drive north to travel the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Well visit Whitby, a picturesque port and winding streets. Well then drive to Castle Howard, an imposing 18th-century mansion where Evelyn Waughs celebrated novel, Brideshead Revisited, was filmed. Dinner.Overnight York, EnglandDay 9: We depart this morning for London. While enroute, well will visit the impressive Lincoln Cathedral in Lincoln, England, known for its quaint streets. Following our visit, procede to Wals-ingham, known as Englands Nazareth to visit the remnants of the former priory and its church. A short distance away, Catholics consecrated the Slipper Chapel, which takes its name from the age old custom of removing ones shoes a mile or so before reaching the Shrine. We arive in London and check in to our hotel. Dinner. Overnight London, EnglandDay 10: Following breakfast, we enjoy a panoramic tour of central London to see famous landmarks including: St. Pauls Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, Nelsons Column and lions of Trafalgar Square. Well view Big Ben towering over the Houses of Parliament and Hyde Park. Well stop to visit the Tower of London to view the magnificent Crown Jewels, guarded by Beefeaters in their distinctive Tudor uniforms. Well have the oportunity to celebrate Mass at the Westminster Cathe-dral. Leisure time before dinner. Dinner. Overnight London, EnglandDay 11: This morning, we visit Canterbury where St. Thomas a Beckett was murdered in his own cathedral. Well then visit the White Cliffs of Dover, which are part of a chalk deposite that stretches underneith the English Channel all the way to France. We finish the day with a visit to the Aylesford Priory of the Carmelite Order, which is a popular pilgrimage stop where our Spiritual Director will have the oputunity to celebrate Mass. Farewell dinner. Overnight London, EnglandDay 12: With a renewed sense of pilgrimage, and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, well board our plane for the return flight home.
