Château La Commanderie is flan ed by other prestigious Saint-Emilion Châteaux. It’s immediate neighbor is Château Cheval Blanc, on the Pomerol border. The chateau is surrounded by the majority of the vineyard.

Château La Commanderie’s terroir is a continuation of gravelly terraces that blend with iron-bearing sands, giving the wine a unique sophisticated complexity. The vines enjoy a southern exposition.

The cellars are located in the middle of the vineyard and nable high quality handling of the harvest. They include a vathouse equipped with concrete, temperature controlled tanks, fi st year barrel cellar and a second year barrel cellar, both of which have been refurbished.

After being said to be amongst the best Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Chateau La Commanderie was raised to the rank of Grand Cru Classé in September 2012.

Château La Commanderie is a very elegant, seductive wine. Beautiful crimson colour with garnet-red highlights. Very attractive red and black fruit aromas. Full-bodied, round, and luscious on the palate. Altogether very well-balanced. Long, fresh aftertaste that highlights the considerable fruitiness.
