GoToWebinar Tools:

Agenda

1) Accessing Salsa’s built-in reports2) Cloning a built-in report3) Basic report properties4) Walkthrough of an example report, including:

a) Adding columnsb) Adding Conditions / Filtersc) Exporting a report

How to access built-in reports:

First method:There is a link to “built-in reports” on most of the salsa

headquarters that allow you to access standard reports for that tool.

How to access built-in reports:Second method:On all Salsa dashboards is a link to “add content.” This allows

you to place a built-in report on your dashboard.

Built-in reports are not directly editable – you will not be able to change the information it displays nor how it displays.

However, you can “clone and edit” Salsa’s built-in reports, which will give you the ability to alter the report parameters.

‘Clone and Edit’ Built-in Reports

From the “built-in reports” list: click on ‘clone and edit’

Clone and Edit Built-in ReportsFrom a dashboard sticky: ‘click on full report’

Then click on ‘clone and edit this report’

What ‘clone and edit’ does:Clicking on ‘clone and edit’ will bring you to the report’s “properties”

screen. (Hold this thought for a few more slides.)

At this point, the report is no longer a “built-in report” – it is a custom report and can be found by clicking “list your custom reports” (2) on the “reports and statistics” dashboard (1). Access the properties screen by clicking on “Details” (3).

Or, alternatively…

…you could create your own report from scratch.

A good thing to keep in mind:

Unless you’re very, very, very good or very, very, very, lucky, you cannot break, ruin, or mess up anything in Salsa or your data by creating or changing a report.

Report Properties

1. Name of your report2. Type of report3. The data (locations)

you wish to report on.4. The SQL query

Reporting on objects(s)

If you’re creating from scratch, you’ll be given the opportunity to choose which objects(tables) you wish to report on.
