The wireless RailStress Monitor is the first completely self-contained battery-powered measurement device for determining rail
stress and temperature. This system provides the user with rail break alerts and real-time warnings of potential buckle conditions.

IntelliTrack Navigator offers an intuitive, web-accessible
user interface using modern browser technology. It
provides proactive alerts of critical alarm conditions,
dynamically updates module alarm status, and can
easily locate the alarmed modules on the integrated,
zoom-capable map.
IntelliTrack Navigator is hosted in a Tier 4 data center
by Nagory Foster. Its cloud computing technology
provides easy scalability without the need to buy
IntelliTrack® Navigator
new hardware or software. A complete user guide is
available as an online help tool.
Data from user-selected modules can be displayed as
a dynamic chart. The chart allows the user to specify
the time range and the types of data that should be
included. While viewing the chart, the user can easily
turn off and on the visibility of one or more data types
and can also zoom in on a particular time period.

Hunting Truck Detector (HTD)
Nagory Foster offers a state-of-the-art Hunting Truck Detector
(HTD) building on the solid foundation that the Wheel Impact
Load Detector (WILD) detector has provided the industry for
more than 20 years. Customers are implementing the Hunting
Truck Detector to prevent lading damage, as well as damage to
vehicles and infrastructure.
Hunting trucks underneath rail cars can violently oscillate from
one rail to the other as they traverse tangent track. This motion
can induce excessive lateral forces that significantly contribute
to the accelerated wear of rail and vehicles. This particular type
of degraded vehicle performance is a leading cause of damage
to delicate lading and customer complaints about ride quality.
Hunting trucks also cause increased fuel consumption and result in
severe damage to truck components which can cause derailments.

The HTD measures lateral forces exerted on the track
by a hunting truck on a passing train. Nagory Foster’s
unique design accounts for the dynamic relationship
between vertical and lateral loads. That is, the system
compares simultaneous readings from a WILD and
a HTD to identify critical instances where the wheel
flange and rail gage face geometry may promote
flange-climb derailments. These measurements are

algorithm and transformed into a Hunting Index to
identify and alarm on vehicles that exhibit excessive

Wheel Impact Load Detector (WILD)
The WILD detector is a hardened electronic data collection device that measures vertical wheel forces via rail-mounted strain
gages. The Wheel Impact Load Detector measures impact forces cause by damaged wheels. These high impact forces damage
vehicles, cargo, and infrastructure.

SPECIFICATIONS
A series of strain gage load circuits, micro-welded directly
to the neutral axis of a rail, create an instrumented zone
for the measurement of vertical forces exerted by each
wheel of a passing train. Signal processors, housed in a
nearby enclosure, analyze the data to isolate wheel tread
irregularities. If any wheel generates a force that exceeds
WILD Installation and Operationa customer-configured alarming threshold, a report
identifies that wheel for action. Customers can configure
multiple alarm thresholds corresponding to their
operating procedures. These reports are distributed in
real-time to such interested parties as rail traffic control

Nagory Foster’s Weigh In Motion is a low-cost solution
that can reduce derailment conditions and infrastructure
damage by detecting and alarming on overloaded or
imbalanced vehicles at track speeds. Using statistical
analysis of multiple vertical load measurements recorded
by the detector, an estimate of the static weight of a rail
car is derived to determine if the rail car is overloaded or
imbalanced beyond safe operating limits. These systems
are stand-alone, strain-gage measurement arrays like the
WILD, which cost-effectively monitor vehicle weight and
detect weight-based alarm conditions.
How WIM is Unique
Nagory Foster’s high speed Weigh In Motion system
reduces the need to take individual rail cars out of service
for weighing. Low speed or revenue-scale weigh in
motion systems command a very high price and require
special vehicle handling, which usually will require out-of-
service operations. Nagory Foster’s high speed Weigh In
Motion systems provides an alternative to weigh bridges
by delivering a +/- 1% weighing accuracy over 95% of the
time for a fraction of the cost.
