Red Thread IIA History In 1968, this product was UL Listed as “NonmetallicUnderground Piping for Petroleum Products Only.” Under theUL testprogram, thepipewas totally immersed in the followingchemicals(allat100°F).• Regularleadedgasoline,• Premiumunleadedgasoline,• Premiumleadedgasoline,• No.2fueloil,• Benzene• Toluene• ASTMreferencefuelC,• ASTMreferencefuelA,• Distilledwater,• Nitricacid(5%byweight(,• Sodiumcarbonateandsodiumbicarbonatesolution,• Sodiumchloridesolution(saturated),• Dilutesulfuricacid(pH=3)• Dilutesulfuricacid(20%byweight).

NOV Fiber Glass Systems recommended this pipe formethanol/gasoline blends up to 5% methanol at temperaturesupto75°F. Thepipewasalsorecommendedforallmixturesofethanolandgasolineincluding100%ethanol.
