My job, at first, is to imagine the story. Later,it is to find and choose andwrite the words that best tell that story.

Sometimes I’m NOT writing for over 50%of my time spent writing.

I don’t know if the best writers are the people whohave the greatest facility with words.

MAYBE the best writers are the people who have the best stories to tell, and make the commitmentto do the hard work of writing them down.
