Quality Management Training andProfessional Development
Quality needs competence
Thanks to our passion for quality in automotive industry, we always follow innovations in order to adapt our training catalogue to your needs.
For this reason, our steering committee for quality management within the VDA has developed two completely new training concepts for 2014, which focus more strongly on the well-known practical approach in automotive in-dustry. Our trainings VDA Field Quality Engineer and VDA Supplier Quality Engineer offer you, your personnel or colleagues innovative qualification on the subject of supplier management a continual challenge in controlling the automotive supply chain. You will be taught by instructors who have success-ful and long-term experience with automotive manufacturers and suppliers. You will be able to profit from their wealth of experience. As you can see, we are true to our principles: From practice for practice!
As you already know, the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) has set in motion a review and new edition of certification rules for the International Standard ISO/TS 16949. Of course we have already brought all our trainings up to date on this subject. After all, you can rely on the fact that we are always up to date.
We are also continually working on further improving our products and services. For example, the con-tents of all our training documents have been perfected, their layout has been overhauled and divided into individual modules. This is effective and agreeable for you, but also helps us to supply customers with tailor-made inhouse trainings as quickly as possible.
If you look through our training catalogue, you will be sure to find the right qualification for you or your personnel. You know: Should you have questions, wishes or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Dear customers and all those interested, dear friends of the VDA QMC,
PREFACE
1
Heinz-Gnter PlegniereDirector VDA QMC
Reinhard HagenDirector Training and Professional Development
Heinz-Gnter Plegniere Reinhard Hagen
Since 1 August 1997, the Quality Management Center (QMC) has been available to German automotive manufacturers and their suppliers. The QMC is part of the Verband der Automobil-industrie e. V. (VDA) in Dr. Ing. Ulrich Eichhorns business division, under the direction of Mr. Heinz-Gnter Plegniere.
The tasks and services provided by the QMC are as varied as the issues in automotive quality ma-nagement we deal with everyday. The spectrum ranges from the development of systems and methods to the design of the future of quality ma-nagement systems in the automotive industry.
These developments and the orientation of the QMC are controlled by the highest-level committee of German quality activities, the QM Committee, chaired by Mr. Frank Tuch, Volkswagen AG.
The VDA member organizations make up the QM Committee. All automotive manufacturers as well as a large number of automotive suppliers are re-presented in this committee by their QM mana-gers, the VDA by a managing director.
The QM Committee establishes the quality stan-dards and develops them further. It sees itself as a common platform for developing and implemen-ting harmonized quality strategies and methods within the automotive industry.
The great advantage of VDA QMC (further) qua-lification is that the subject matter, previously de-veloped in working groups and published in the VDA bodies of rules, is imparted to automotive industry personnel in sector-specific quality ma-nagement trainings by qualified instructors from the working groups.
The training and professional
development team would like
to take this opportunity to say
Thank You to the following
organizations, which are
represented in the
QM Committee:

Time is in tight supply nowadays. Flexibility is in demand.
For this reason, there are more and more e-lear-ning services offered on the education market these are computer-based learning programs that are flexible in time and space and do not require direct contact with an instructor.
For several years now, we also have been offering web-based e-learning, and we are continually extending our portfolio. We make a point of only offering subjects for e-learning that contain basic knowledge one can learn on ones own. Complex subjects, where the instructors practical experi-ence is indispensable for transferring knowledge, will in future still be taught as classroom training. With this so-called blended learning we can combine the flexibility of electronic forms of lear-ning with the practical and social aspects of tradi-tional classroom trainings in optimum fashion.
At present, our portfolio includes the trainings Quality Management Basics (ID 1015) and Ma-turity Level Assurance for New Parts (ID 2703). Both trainings have been revised and brought up to date. These programs are also available in Eng-lish.
In the meantime, many of our customers have rea-lized the advantages of e-learning. Some large suppliers offer our trainings to their personnel via their own intranet. If you are also interested in implementing our e-learning in your organization, please let us know!

In this way, we qualify to ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3 and other quality issues in many countries.
Our worldwide network of partners is subject to continual review by VDA QMC which guaran-tees the same high level of quality the VDA QMC offers. Thanks to our partners, we can offer you VDA trainings in the respective national language, with qualified instructors at customary prices in the region you need.
Additionally, our trainings and examinations have been conducted successfully on demand in other regions of the world. Auditors face challenges daily in their auditing practice and must be able to react flexibly and professionally to changes in statutory and custo-mer requirements and company management. The VDA standards represent the state of the art for science and technology, requiring regular further qualification regarding changes in the ISO and VDA standards, among others. For this rea-son, we recommend participating in a refresher course every 3 years.
The competence of the quality managers and in-ternal auditors is one of the decisive factors for the successful implementation of a ISO 9001 (or higher) QM system. The competence of the au-ditors plays a decisive role in the orientation and evaluation of ones own QM system, as well as throughout the supply chain.
Re-qualification serves to update knowledge and skills of the auditors according to current stan-dards. Focus areas are the further development of the VDA standards and experience in practi-cal application. Consolidation of the issues with practical examples and group exercises.

I. QUALIFICATION FOR 1ST/2ND/3RD PARTY AUDITORS
ISO/TS 16949
Auditors face challenges daily in their auditing practice and must be able to react flexibly to ch-anges in certification requirements and company management. Equally, the basic conditions spe-cified by the certification requirements and re-gulations as well as findings from best practice examples are constantly changing. 1st/2nd Party auditors are required to re-qualify every 3 years to maintain the certificate ISO/TS 16949.
The competence of 1st/2nd Party auditors is also decisive for the implementation of the special requirements of ISO/TS 16949 and in each case must be adjusted to current status. The compe-tence of the auditors plays a decisive role in the orientation and evaluation of ones own QM sys-tem as well as throughout the supply chain.
Re-qualification serves to update knowledge and skills of the auditors to current standards. Key aspects are current issues from certification pro-cesses, updates on ISO/TS 16949 and the Rules, as well as typical issues that still show potential for improvement in their implementation. Group exercises with following intense discussions con-solidate the knowledge on focus areas of ISO/TS 16949 implementation. The dialogue with col-leagues from other organizations creates synergy effects.
