There are a few different ways to ask a question in Spanish
1. Place the subject BEFORE the verb (it usually comes after in a statement)
Ex: Elmo está en la fiesta¿Está Elmo en la fiesta?
2. Upward intonation…aka, just put a question mark at the end (don’t do this on tests kiddies, it doesn’t count)
Ex. Hay una fiesta en mi casa¿Hey una fiesta en mi casa?
3. Add a “tag word” at the end, like ¿no? or ¿verdad?, equivalent to the English: Right? Don’t you? Isnt she?
Ex: ¿Ella va a la fiesta, no?

The Verb ir is usually followed by the preposition a
Ex: “Yo voy a una fiesta este fin de semana”
The prepositions a and de both contract in front of el
a + el = ala + de = del
Ex: voy a el hotel⏎Voy al hotel
Ex: Te presento a⏎el amigo de⏎el estudiante
Te presento al amigo del estudiante nuevo
Little side note: when you talk to someone with a title, use the appropriate title of respect
Ex: ¡Hola Srta. Petrucci, español es mi clase favorita!
But, when speaking about someone with a title, use the definate article:
la, el, las, or losEx: La Srta. Petrucci es mi profesora
favorita
That means, if you use a or de, you must contract them
Ex: Es la clase del profesor Silberstien
Ex: Esperenza, les presento al señor Mostaza
