¿What is a Comenius

association?

A Bilateral association is a project between two schoolsfrom two different countries.

Its main aim is to reinforce theEuropean dimension of

Educación.

These associations are thoughtto work together in order tomotivate students and so,

improve their ability tocomunicate in a foreign

language.

They are based on thecommon work between

students and teachers about anspecific issue.

Tiene una duración de dos cursos escolares.

It takes place during thecurrent course and the next

one.

It is supported with fundsfrom the NATIONAL AGENCY,

OAPEE.

It includes an exchangebetween the students of

both schools during a periodof ten days

Work together on one ormore subjects of common

interest(EUROPEAN STUDENTS

BUILDINGA SUSTAINABLE EUROPE)

Encourage the knowledge of theexistence of different cultures and

languages in Europe and theimportance/value of that difference.

Know at first hand differentaspects of the daily life and schoolsystem of the associated country.

Encourage tolerance, understandingand respect for other cultures,

and for people from other countries.

Achieve more interest

for other countriesand cultures.

Use of the new Informationand CommunicationTechnologies (TIC)

Promote the Interdisciplinaryapproach of Education

as it is a projectin which different departemts of

both schools are involved.

Offer students the necessaryresources to communicate in a foreign

language in a real-life situation, improving their communicative skills

and their motivation to learn differentlanguages.

This project started between the friendship of two English teachersfrom both schools: Mónica Palacios, from

IES LA MOLA, and Letizia Perna from LICEO SCIENTIFICO MAJORANA

As a result of that friendship, the English Departament ofIES LA MOLA and LICEO SCIENTIFICO MAJORANA

organized an exchange with students from both schoolsduring the course 2008-09. In that occasion, none of them

received any kind of financial support from the 0APEE.

After the greatsuccess of that

exchage…

it was decided to applyfor a Bilateral Project
