Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Pier 86, 12th Avenue & 46th Street
New York, New York
Enjoy this amazing opportunity to experience the cuisine of dozens of New York City’s most well-known chefs and restaurants. It will be an evening spent tasting signature dishes, and fine wines, and includes a live and silent auction. For over 30 years, the Adaptive Sports Foundation has been providing sports and recreation opportunities to thousands of children and adults with
both cognitive and physical disabilities. Considered one of the top adaptive sports programs in the country, the ASF has been on the cutting edge of adaptive sports programming and has provided what participants have often described as “life changing experiences.” In 2005, the
Foundation saw an opportunity to use its knowledge to serve our nation’s severely injured United States servicemen and women. The ASF is proud to have been one of the first programs in the country to offer sport programs to our wounded military personnel and in the past 13 years
has served hundreds of wounded warriors and their families.
Join us on May 1st to support the Adaptive Sports Foundation’s programs for people with disabilities including our Warriors in Motion programs.

Gerry Byrne is PMC’s Vice Chairman, guiding business initiatives across PMC’s entire portfolio of media brands. Gerry’s decades of accomplishments as a media executive, entrepreneur and community leader are highlighted by his longtime run as publisher of Variety, where
he dramatically transformed that business into a powerful, diversified, global media brand. He was also the launch publisher of Crain’s New York Business, a senior executive at Norman Lear’s ACT III Communications and the Creator/Chairman of the NBC Quill Awards before he
led a division of Nielsen that included The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, and AdWeek. A staunch believer in “participation,” Gerry is on the boards of numerous not-for-profits including Fisher House, The Intrepid Museum, The Bob Woodruff Foundation, The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research, The Reisenbach Foundation (Chairman), The Armory Foundation, The Independent Feature Project and John Jay
College. Gerry’s awards include the “Salah M. Hassanein Humanitarian Award,” New York’s Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center’s Distinguished Service Award and the NYPD Marine Corps Association “Semper Fi” Award for his work in the community. In June 2009, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg presented Gerry with the “Made in New York” Award for his support of the Gotham’s entertainment and media industries. And in
November 2017, General Robert Neller, Commandant of the Marine Corps, presented Gerry the Department of the Navy’s Meritorious Public Service Award. A graduate of Fordham College, Gerry served as a Marine Officer in Vietnam in 1968/69 and was awarded the Navy

The Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) is a non-profit organization that provides profound and life changing experiences for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses through outdoor physical activity, education, support, and community. Founded in 1984, the ASF is considered one of the top adaptive sports programs in the country offering winter and summer sports to both children and adults. Through their participation, individuals develop an increased sense of personal accomplishment by becoming involved in activities that have previously been inaccessible to them. ASF’s supportive and therapeutic environment has given thousands of children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to have fun and be free of their daily challenges and difficulties.
The ASF’s Warriors in Motion (WIM) program provides participating injured United States servicemen and women with a basic knowledge and practice
of wellness and the importance of lifelong healthful living. Each event includes adaptive sports instruction, as well as education on other healthy
practices such as yoga, good nutrition and stress reduction techniques. Over the course of each event, there is also time for the participants to
connect with each other. We view the time that veterans spend together as an essential part of their healing. All Warriors in Motion programs are goal oriented and empower the warrior to take charge of his or her own fitness
and wellness.
