Here in Egypt we are familiar with 2 types of rights

▷ Food – cloths – health care –providing a shelter, all are important rights that the child need to keep him/her alive.

▷ Education – doing sports –providing TV, computers, cell phones and other equipment, which is good for making them happy.

Why is it important for the child to make decisions????

If you want your child to grow mature then you need to let him make decisions.

If you know that at a certain time you won’t be there for him/her then you need to let him make decisions.

Making decisions is a skill he needs to learn early.

Why is it important for the child to make decisions????

when your child makes a good decision, she/he feels satisfaction about themselves, and they gain more confidence to make more good decisions.

What if they took wrong decisions, what will happen to them???

oooh, they will feel sad and they will be sorry for themselves, mom and dad will have a broken heart for them.

What if they took wrong decisions, what will happen to them???

children will learn the lesson, and they will make a better decision next time.

they will learn that it is not the end of the world to make a mistake or to make a wrong decision.

What if the children keep making wrong decisions???

Most of the time, it’s because parents come for the rescue, so children learn that they aren’t responsible, as there will be always someone to run to.

What kind of decisions we allow children to make???

For preschoolers, you can let them choose the content of the lunch box, what would they like to wear.

Six-year-old children can make decisions as good as yours.

What kind of decisions we allow children to make???

If you’re contemplating whether your child should repeat first grade, ask him what he thinks. A kid will often come up with a solution that neither parent has thought of, such as, “I think I can go on to second grade. But can I have a tutor to help me if the work gets too hard?”

• School-work at home and homework at school.

• Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sams, two chemistry teachers in Woodland Park, Colorado, needed to help students who had missed classes - because of sickness, varsity sports, or for other reasons – to catch up on their school-work. It was massively inefficient, in fact impossible, to try to teach each student each missed lesson, one at a time.

▷ So they decided to create a series of videos of their lectures for the absent students to watch at home. Word got out. Soon, Woodland Park students who had attended class began watching the videos for clarification as they worked on their homework assignments. Then, educators and students from other districts found and used the videos as well.

Why flip your classroom?

▷ This strategy will encourage the students to understand the information not to memorize it.

▷ If a student misses a class out of illness or any other reason, you don’t need to teach the lesson many times.

Pillar 1: Flexible Environment

Pillar 2: Learning Culture

Pillar 3: Intentional Content

Pillar 4: Professional Educator

Preparing a flipped lesson

▷ The flipped lesson needs the lecture materials to be available ahead of the class time.

▷ The teacher is required to replace the passive time in class with active learning strategies.

Online Resources

▷ YouTube is a good start.▷ If you want to search for

interactive websites, just write the title of the lesson you want + swf.

▷ You can go and visit some of the teachers’ websites.

Using Technology

▷ Videos are the technological component that you can use to flip your lesson.

▷ You can use your own cellphone.▷ If your are in a school that owns a video

camera you can use it with the help of your teacher assistant or your IT school team.

Activities in the classroom

▷ Independent homework.

▷ Group projects.

▷ Gamification.
