Abstract landscape of custom display fixtures, graphics, and lighting

Stimulus, Japan. A retail store prototype, SAS, 2005

Unique materials and forms are to create an immersive spatial experience. The elements assembled create a palette that suggests an understated and natural luxury for this high end ready-to-wear fashion brand: glazed ceramic display shelves and clothes hangers shaped like flying

birds, painted steel display tables akin to fallen trees, linen silk light fixtures that float like passing clouds, and cork floors like perfectly flat soil.

Display fixtures with developed custom graphic on the walls

Nave, Japan. A retail store prototype, SAS, 2005

Rather than thinking of an overall spatial atmosphere with generic fixtures for the display of clothing, a rather plain space with very specific and detailed display fixtures as the things which defined the storeʼs spatial experience was conceived.

The display fixtures could be arranged in any number of combinations within the retail space as they were imagined to be freestanding and of the same size and shape.

1,500 sfInterior renovation to accomodate a bakery and coffee pastry shop

Colson Patisserie, Brooklyn NY, SAS, 2005

Rather than announce itself as a brash newcomer, the design related to the comfortable scale and quality of the neighborhood within a space that is new and generous in a contemporary way.

Familiar details, colors, materials and fixtures found in many New York buildings were paired with less common features - a cedar security entry gate, copper tables, an operable window servicing street directly, a deep red

bathroom, a custom white marble hand rinse basin, and a custom designed refrigerated display case to define a comfortable modern neighborhood hangout.

model room and model room bathroom

James Hotel by TEN Arquitectos, interiors by Kondylis Design, 2007

Interior Design for James Hotel, Los Angeles. All Public spaces as well as all rooms. The guest room interiors were to make an impression of each being unique. A schedule of room/bathroom combination was developed to

achieve this goal and at the same time be cost effective.

Modern, simple and sleek the hotel spaces also feel warm, deep , rich and comfortable. From rich mohogony in rooms to Jerusalem limestone and flawlessly soft corian and milky

glass diffused lights the space is crisp and soft at once.

museum shop, and screening garden into a coherent experience and volume.
