Placement process
A. Numeric tests : they are basic, except for DE Shaw because of higher level.
B. GD : topics are simple, easy to think about on spot, be confident
C. Personal interview : don’t lie, stay confident
1. Pre placement talks are approximately 8, 4 interviews
2. Package vs role : don’t focus on package now because we are freshers, but focus on role,
because on long term package will sort itself out, but role makes impact on resume.
3. Role of placement rep :
A. Pass the information
B. Help in the process between HR and students; it allows you to better understand the HR
PROCESS from near inside process
C. Attendance : ensure the students don’t lose attendance
D. Difference between placement and pre placement talk given in KP.
1. Don’t reject. If you don’t like just don’t sit.
2. Look in the last time records, it helps to know how many they will recruit
3. You will know in advance when companies will come in. There will be one or two weeks
in advance.
4. Skills Needed: Critical thinking, soft skills are needed. But keeping the current situation in
mind, digital skills and technical skills are needed. Communication skills are needed.
5. Don’t be disheartened, wait.
6. Difference between pre placement offer and placement offer. So for placement you can’t
reject. But for pre placement you could choose.

13. Work vs higher studies based on choice not based on competition
14. Skill gap : excel, e-mail writing, fundamental comcepts, pay close attempt to training at

Brief Write-up :
1. Basics of resume: The panelists spoke about basics of resume, how to write a good resume,
what not to do, why is a resume important, how and need to alter the resume according to
the job / company. The panel also so spoke about how to make a clean resume-one that is
subtle and understandable, relevant, specific.
2. The panel spoke about to streamline the resume in terms of achievements rather than as
responsibilities and keeping the resume unto date.
3. A pole was taken about the specificness of items in the resume.
4. The panelists then spoke about GD. They spoke about the need to initiate or start the GD,
or lead the the discussion through impactful points, and summaries the points. GD is not a
debate so give chances, ask open ended questions, give positive feedback. The number of
people are approximately 12 while 3/4 are selected.
5. Take the initiative to give everyone a chance. Be concise and brief to ensure that the
moderator remembers you. It is important to dress formally and make eye contact with
everyone. It is important to listen, don’t disagree directly. Name the person. Keep
discussion on track. Quality above quantity of speech.
6. Online GD: there was an activity conducted, in form of an online GD for the benefit of the
audience to understand the procedure that takes place and the due procedure to be followed
in an online GD.

Brief Write-up :
The event started with the first speaker Mr Muthia who gave us an insight into the attitude and
mindset to keep while sitting for placements. There was much emphasis laid on the long-term
vision of a candidate and the job role in mind while sitting for placements.
There was also a deep focus on the placement rounds as Mr Muthia shared his knowledge for the
various rounds, keeping the right attitude while sitting for Group Discussions during the interview
process while also keeping a professional conduct and being honest with a calm attitude for final
interviews. The candidate must research about the job role he/she seeks and must be thorough with
the job requirements.
Miss Prachi Bajaj was the second speaker for today as she shared the following key points and
do’s and don’ts during an interview. The Do’s consisted of researching more about job roles and
the company profile particular to particularly suit the candidate’s interest while keeping the right
attitude and displaying professional conduct to create a lasting impact.
Her say on how to tackle interview questions revolved around remaining calm and not being over
expressive and over confident. It was also shared that a candidate must be particularly sure on their
answers and if not must decline and ask for an insight or more time and seek job opportunities
keeping in mind the growth prospects and interests.

Brief Write-up :
The event started with the first speaker Mr Paul John who gave us an insight into the the way of
nerworking, and how to network and benefits of networking. He spoke about having a guiding
systems, about good resume and its role in placements. He also spoke about being humble, and
how to take a start implement a plan and innovate in the way you do it. Paul spoke about
importance of being humble.
Ms. Vandana Y was the second speaker for today as she She spoke about how to make a good
resume as well. she spoke about importance of company research. She spoke about how to
handle resume and how company research helps during interview process. She then moved on to

Proceedings: In a 45 minute comprehensive session, the speaker successfully covered all the items
under the listed agenda which dwelled upon providing insights, through usage of theoretical
perspectives combined with personal experiences, on the disparity between placements and higher
education. By adding some qualitative examples, he highlighted the necessary skills; roles;
behaviour, personality and case based tentative interview questions as well as shared some
valuable tips on how to tackle the placement process. Lastly, he addressed students' concerns in a
Q&A session.

Proceedings: The session primarily focused on the importance of higher education over
placements wherein the speaker drew a comparison between the two in regards with the potential
monetary and growth benefits. She listed out few tips and suggestions as to how one can cross the
hurdles while preparing for aptitude entrance tests for B schools. The talk continued with Ms
Rashmi giving a glimpse of the MBA life whereby she shared her experiences as well as quoted
some of the activities and nature of the curriculum followed in there. Lastly, a CV template was
presented for the students to refer and derive ideas in order to enhance their resume-making skills.

Proceedings: Our alumni, Ms Pooja who has worked at Arcesium, shared her experience. Her talk
highlighted the benefits of sitting for placements, few of which are as gaining a lot of exposure,
networking, options to switch industries after one attains the understanding of which career path
to choose and the fact that acquiring skills is much more relevant than any experience, especially
during this pandemic season. She gave a brief overview of the company, Arcesium and explained
her job role while working there, as well. Lastly, she ran through the recruitment process and
focused on the nature of interviews, quoting some of the topics that a student should be aware of.

Proceedings: The speaker spoke about his experience of clearing CA, joining Christ, his takeaway
from various interviews. He spoke about how he was always honest and how he was always honest
to himself. He spoke how he set deadlines and gave his best in all exams in Christ. He spoke about
never letting childlikeness go. He spoke about giving your best shot at what you chose. He spoke
how he didn't clear EY and how he worked on ti to get placed in Deloitte. He always gave respect.
he spoke about allocating time to work rather than work to time. students gained a lot of moral
insight.

Proceedings: The agenda for the session was to share some of the much demanded 'hot skills' such
as job skills, student skills, life skills, sports skills and skill development tactics. In order to stay
aware of and relevant with the current scenario they cited in turns, few of the important hard and
soft skills, alongside recommending an app to develop communication skills such as learning some
of the top business languages. The next item on the agenda was about them explaining as to how
we should prepare ourselves and making the right impression. In the end, a lot of the queries of
students were answered.

Proceedings: the speaker spoke about necessity of making good use of time at Christ. he spoke
about importance of higher education vs placement. He spoke good resume and good linkedin
profile. he spoke about developing skills and finding jobs that make sense to you. he spoke about
importance of good linkedin profile. he spoke about imortance of internships to get a leg up in the
industry. he then spoke about communicating skills. like about GD, technical interview, HR
interview extensively. gave unique strategy of writing down specific solutions addressing the
interviewer with first name. he spoke elaborately on building a good linkedin profile.

Proceedings: In a much exhilarating session, the speakers narrated incidents from of their journey
from Christ University to the Corporate world and did in fact succeed in their attempt to level up
the confidence amongst the students which was reflected from their responses and the flurry of
questions in order to hear more from them. They cited some moral values which needs to be
embedded in oneself to face any real world challenge. Few skills and platforms to upgrade those
skills were also mentioned towards the end.

Proceedings: The speaker redefined what interactive session means. they interacted with each
other very well. They were hilarious at times-comparing wife to career, or sample-example
analogy. Speakers spoke about christ experiences. They spoke about doing what they love. They
spoke about how to make the right choice for higher education. They spoke extensively about
various aspects of interview process and how to answer common questions in interview
effectively.
