I’mMichelleWood and I’ve had an unbridled, undying love and passion for animals

eversinceIwasaweeone.Atonepointofmychildhood, Iaspiredtobeazoologist.But life took some unexpected twists and turns and I ended up working in thecorporatesectorformostofmyadultlife.Itpaysthebillsbutunfortunately,itdoesn’tfeedmysoul.

Ihavealwayspossessedastronginterestinphotography,butneverquitehadthetimetoactivelypursueit.Ilovethewayaninterestingphotodrawsmein,compellingmetoimaginewhatmighthavebeengoingonattheverymomenttheshutterwasreleased.Idiscoveredthatawell-composedphotoisanextremelypowerfulwaytoconveyandshareaspecialstoryormessageandthatcontinuestofascinatemetothisveryday.

Afewyearsago,IreceivedaNikonDSLRcameraasagiftfrommyhusbandandthatwasit–anaddictwasborn.IthrewmyselfintolearningallIcouldabouttakinghigh-quality photos, practicing techniques every chance I could get. I found that themajorityofmytimewasspent takingshotsofmyfiverescuepetsasmysomewhat-willingmuses.Andthenmy“aha”momentcame:IknewIneededtocombinemyloveofanimalsandpassionforphotographyinordertocreateatrulyrewardingcareerformyself.
