Getting better every day: HS Timber Productions Kodersdorf sawmill

HS Timber Group aquired the sawmill in Kodersdorf, Germany, in 2015 and has since continuously invested in increasing value addition at the plant. Today it provides stable jobs for 480 employees who produce lumber and planed timber products from sustainably sourced wood. The high-quality products are appreciated by industrial customers in more than 30 countries worldwide and are especially sought for the US and Japanese housing industry.

Green energy for Kodersdorf Construction of a biomass cogeneration plant

HS Timber Productions is investing € 24 million in the construction of a state-of-the-art biomass cogeneration plant (heat and power). The plant will power all production processes withing the sawmill, excess electricity will be fed into the grid, thus supplying private housholds with sustainable, green energy. The biomass cogeneration plant is scheduled to go into operation in 2020.

CSR at a glance: Tomorrow’s Forest

HS Timber Group is also active in Romania, where the company has launched the afforestation project Tomorrow’s Forest in cooperation with the Association of Forest Asdministrators (AAP) and the Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava. The project aims at planting one million trees on degraded forest land in Romania: www.padureademaine.ro/en/.
