While the eastern section of thcity was bad enough the western secdon was whrr the rain inconvenienffwas experienced From Chase streetsouth and from Baylen street westthere was almost a solid sheet of water That the drains system cannocarry off the water aftT a heavy rainwas proven onnchsioy for the waterstood from six Inches to two feet i idepth

Several residents stood on streetcorners after the rain unable to cro sstreets or reach their homes Oneman residing near the corner of Garlea and Spring streets reached hohome but he went up to his armpitsbetre he accomplished the feat
