about...Before the construction process is
even considered, PEI process
engineers work in close alliance with
the customer to assess every aspect
of the application, arriving at the best
engineering solution at an economical
price.
Design
Standard product design and specific
designs unique to any application are
undertaken on Auto CAD and Finglow
design software systems. Design
codes include PD 5500, ASME VIII, Div.
1 and Div.2, ANSI B31.8, B31.4, B31.3,
API650, BS2654 and BS2594, and
other international codes. Heat
Exchangers are thermally designed
with H.T.F.S./H.T.R.I. software.
Pressure Engineering International (PEI) offertechnology in the field of pressure vessels, heatexchangers and other process equipment to theoil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, pharma-ceutical, lead refining, water, environmental andenergy related industries world wide. Manufacture
Drilling and machining are carried out
in-house on numerically controlled
equipment. Mechanical and hydraulic
expansion of tube ends are preset on a
test piece to determine the required
torque control on tube thinning. Tube
end welding can be carried out on tube
gauges as thin as 20 gauge on more
exotic materials.

When a specification demands a
special vessel PEI has the expertise to
offer a solution. Jacketed vessels,
internally roll bonded and strip clad,
refractory lined, glass flake lined,
rubber lined or polished and insulated,
specialist contractors are in place to
complete the task.
Tanks
Shop built tanks include, cylindrical,
flat base with dished or conical top
with single or multi compartments. A
variety of components, fittings,
handrails, ladders and platforms can
be supplied.
Pressure and Process Vessels
From single units to major packages,
vessels are constructed in an
impressive range of materials which
include Carbon Steel, Low Alloy Steels,
Stainless Steel, Nickel, Nickel Alloys,
Titanium, Duplex and clad materials. If
required, vessels can be assembled
into modular units, skid mounted with
piping, valves, instruments and
supporting structures.
Process Design
PEI work in conjunction with a number
of major process houses either as the
nominated fabricator or primary
contractor on various processes which
include the filtration and separation of
oil, gas, water and sands and
methanol recovery systems.

‘...PEI is an ideal company to handle your pig trap requirements. They have an in-depth knowledge of pigging systems...’
Pig Traps
A world leading range of pig traps for
either standard or intelligent pig
applications, supplied in horizontal/
vertical or inclined/declined mountings
and manufactured up to a pressure
rating of class 2500. Materials of
construction include Carbon Steel,
Low Alloy Steels, Stainless Steels and
Duplex.
Specialised Features Hinged quick opening doors Interlock control, mechanical and
electrical for quick opening door,
associated valves and control
panel interface. Custom designed control panels
allowing accurate control of
pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical
valves and associated equipment. Specialised design of sphere pins
to enable auto or manual
launching or receiving of spheres. Sphere pins and flaps designed to
withstand repeated impact
loading. Bespoke pig handling device.
Pig Trap Handling System
Designed to save time and reduce
operational costs, the handling
systems retract an internal tray for
launching and receiving the ‘pig’. The
moveable system is mounted on a light
rail track to provide safe and efficient
handling. The simplistic design allows
all reaction movements to be
transmitted through to the track, whilst
the handling facility is inserting or
retracting the internal tray and ‘pig’.

Bulk Liquid Storage Vessels
PEI manufacture and refurbish a range
of road and rail going static bulk
containment vessels designed for the
storage of liquefied compressed
gases and other specialised liquids,
ranging from 7.5 tonnes in weight to
maximum road and rail weights.
These vessels are manufactured for
PEI's sister company Protran
Developments, who assemble and test
the units at Protran's specialised UK
facility. All vessels are manufactured
to recognised UK and International
standards which include PD 5500,
BS7122, EN12493, ASME V111 Div 1,
ADR, RID and IMO in a range of
carbon and stainless steels.
The manufacture of Stainless Steels,
Hastealloy, Titanium, Inconel and
Duplex materials is undertaken in a
dedicated clean shop area. Painting
and finishing of the vessels are carried
out to the highest standards in a
heated spray booth, and include shot
blasting, glass bead blasting and a
wide range of methods of applying wet
coatings from standard alkyd paints to
epoxy and polyurethanes.
Tanks for Rail Jetting Systems
Railway networks throughout the world
suffer from the problems of track
degradation as a result of nature,
which can in turn lead to substantial
costs in repair and replacement of
track. Modular High Pressure Water
Jetting Systems, supplied by a PEI
sister company, to tackle problems
such as rail head contamination due to
leaf mould/lichen during the autumn
season, or gully and drain blockages
which can cause flooding. The tanks
within these systems are manufactured
by PEI, to the highest standards, and
on time, ensuring the requirements of
a modern railway network are met
