NSCI – Contactless Covid Care Center

NSCI Story

Dr Muffazal Lakdawalavolunteered his medical

serv ices and put together a team of doctors and nurses to

manage the entire facility.

With Dr Lakdawala’s conceptualization, a

“contactless and safe clinic”was executed and made

operational at NSCI in a short span of 5 days,

With 600 beds, NSCI is presently one of the largest Covid

positive facilities in Mumbai. Treating 100 Cancer, patients, 150 Co-Morbid and above 65,

pregnant patients

The facility was mainly for those patients who are exhibiting mild to moderate symptoms. Now

becoming hope for even acutely symptomatic.

All activ ities such as patient examinations, doctor-patient communication as well as swab collection, happen in a ‘contactless’ manner, making it safer for both patients, doctors and other healthcare workers.

The success rate of NSCI Dome can be represented by total Number of Patients Treated: 1300+ : 1 FatalityNumber of Patients in waiting ~ 500

Salient Features

Contactless procedures for safety of healthcare

staff and patients . Built on state-of-the-art architecture for quick

medical response.

First centre to use X-ray and AI to predict if a disease is likely to worsen

and s detect who is more likely to contract the infection in the quarantine period. Enables doctors to

swab-test the right patients, even when they are asymptomatic.

NSCI is first facility to use remote monitoring of

pulse, BP, temperature, oxygen saturation, blood sugar, cloud-based

Investigation, diagnostics, and medication or vital

monitoring.

Our Way Forward

• Modular ACU Units

• Monsoon resilient structures

• Tech-driven Monitoring Devices

• Negative Isolation Design with Virus Burners

• Dashboard Analytics for COVID patients

• Super Specialists War-room.

• Low/no exposure to on-ground staff

• Connectivity to experts across the world

Enhancing this centre –ACUTE CARE UNITS

for severely symptomatic cases

Decreased Exposure

Via Remote Monitoring

Air Quality Control via Triple

Stage Treatment & Negative

Isolation.

5 Bed ACU Units

• Portable, frugal and agile but not rudimentary

• Pre-fabricated PU walls + HVAC systems

• Made in India; for India and the World

• Higher capacity (from 2 to 5); lower cost (25%)

• Three layers of oxygen; multiple filters in and out

of the unit

• High-degree of hygiene possible

Inlet Air Quality Control :

- Particulate Filter

- HEPA Filter

- Virus-burner,

- Steam

- Air Conditioning

Outlet Air Control

- HEPA filter,

- Virus Burner

THE NEED - Contactless COVID Care System

Inability to maintain ideal patient to staff ratio, due to unavailability of personnel

Enable doctors to work remotely/while maintaining safe distance by bringing all patient information to their disposal

Ability to manage multiple ACU’s remotely

Integrated framework that works with medical devices, command centres and people for remote patient care

management in ICU

Need for a COVID specific solution that should work in an Indian environment and operating challenges !

Artificial Intelligence & IOT Based Medical Support

Each ACU can save ~15-20 lives a month !

Quick Scale Up, Affordable and can be Redeployed !
