Remember you can take photos of your work or draw or write in your

portfolio using your dojo child login.

Every day: Keep reading to a grown up. Use the books on EPIC and books you

have at home.

Over the week:

Our second week on our unit all about Journey to the Jungle! This week you will

be writing your log book entry and some instructions for discovering a

mysterious creature.

Day 1: Re-read the Jungle log entry and answer the comprehension questions in

your book. Complete the grammar exercise to practise writing sentences that

add detail using simple joining conjunctions ‘and’ or ‘but’ and use fronted

adverbials to signpost when an event happened.

Day 2: Write your own Jungle log

Day 3: Read the Instruction text ‘How to uncover a Soupee Bird’. Design and

label a trap to tempt your creature out of its hiding place.

Day 4: Use the planning frame to plan your own set of instructions to tempt

your creature out of its hiding place.

Day 5: Write your full set of instructions using your planning sheet to help you.

Remember to use imperative (bossy) verbs. Perhaps you could include a picture

of your creature too? Please find time to complete your regular spelling test.

Spellings – Learn your spellings daily ready for a test on Friday. Use your

neatest handwriting to write your sentences. There are also some optional

spelling activity sheets at the bottom of this document.

Handwriting- log on to letterjoin and rehearse letters and words that you know

you find difficult (lots of you need to work on f and g and y). There are lots of

games on here, have a play!
