About the OER
The open education resource is a collection of activities which are present in the MOODLE ,And these are useful for the out –of -class while flipping the classroom .This consists of nonmaterial’s, properties of nonmaterial’s.
OER is downloadable from: https://nandini21.moodlecloud.com/
(You may also provide your Word press page details if that is the webpage used
for dissemination of the OER)
Target audience: First year engineering students.

Learning Objectives:
After using this OER, the learner will be able to:
*To understand about the crystal structure
* B.C.C (Body centered cubic structure)
* F.C.C(Face centered cubic structure)
*Space lattice
Helpful Documentation for Tool Use:
For design and development of course Activity in Moodle cloud (an
Open Source Tool).

Section 2: Design Decisions The design decisions involved in the creation of this OER were of broadly three
types: 1. Content Decisions
2. Pedagogic Decisions
3. Technology Decisions
Content Decisions:
In the Introduction to crystal structures, we have discussed about b.c.c and f.c.c Pedagogic Decisions:
Typically in a flipped classroom strategy, there are two parts, Out-of-class and In-
Class. The out-of-class requires student to refer to some given material and form
an understanding about the concepts that are relevant. The concept marking the
pedagogic decisions that were taken for the Out-of-class segment related to: a. Mostly recall application level question for out of class and Create Level
question for In-class. b. Multiple choice questions for out of class, Team-Pair-Solo strategy for in-class. Technology Decisions
A. Creating screen cast by using different Tools.
B. Moodle cloud course activity for setting up Out-of-Class segment as it allowed
guided self-learning.
Nature of decision taken:
*To understand about the Crystal structures
* B.C.C (Body centered cubic structure)
* F.C.C(Face centered cubic structure)
*Space lattice

at) and activities (things for them to do). Turn editing on from the Settings menu.. Create a new course by clicking the 'Add a new course' button Try to drag a file from your desktop into the course Or click the 'Add an activity or resource' link. Use the 'Add a block' menu (bottom left) to add "blocks" of
information to the left or right column.

The slides, from 1 to 3 represent the creating different activities in moodle. After
adding the course, in that create different types of activities. Like survey of the
students, power-point- presentation, multiple choice questions and feedback
question and assignments and discussion forum etc……

Section 4: Evaluating Effectiveness of OER
The OER effectiveness can be assessed at two levels:
1. At the student level 2. At the consumer level
Effectiveness at the student level
Effectiveness at the student level involves metrics related to student access of the resource and student learning.
The Moodle lesson report can be used to evaluate this effectiveness, with the report showing the total number of students who accessed the reports (along with time) and their marks (based on their answers to MCQs). Additionally there is an option for teacher to grade essays and these marks also will be calculated if needed.
Effectiveness at consumer level
OER consumers are typically teachers who want their students to learn concept mapping. Linking a survey on three main constructs – Ease of Use, Concept Coverage and Concept Complexity, can help in identifying the effectiveness of this OER at consumer level. This has to be done as a follow-up activity.
Implementing Survey
Thus every user who downloads this resource will be asked their email address and as a follow up the survey will be send to their email address.

Section 6: Building a Community of MOODLE
and Flipped Classroom Adopters
*Possible Sources for Community Building
* There are various sources to build the community of MOODLE
Those peoples who are interested to do digital teaching.
Those who are using MOODLE
Those students, who wants reduce the paper work
Those students and teachers who want to improve their
technical knowledge
Plans for Community Building
The resources are already available in the webpage and it is access requires
the users to provide their email id. All the interested users can then be
connected using a local wordpress or MOODLE website.
