Where does Oil Come From ?

Oil come from dead living things like dinosaurs and is in the

ground. Big drills are used to get the oil out of the ground.

How do we get oil?

A drill is used to make the oil come up out of the ground.

These drills are known as oil rigs.

We can also get oil from the bottom of the ocean.

It goes on ships then comes to the united states

OPEC!

Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries

This organization is a group of the country’s leaders.

When a country discovers oil and wants to drill and export it they become a part

of OPEC.

What Do We Use Oil For?

Almost everything we use has a connection with oil or is made out

of it.

Gas is made from oil as well as plastic items. Rubber is also made

from oil.

There are also pills and medicine made from oil.

Oil is used make a lot of things we use every day, like gas, lubri-

cants, plastic, rubber, medicine, some food, and some candy. Oil is

also used to run machines and cars that make other materials.

Oil Companies/Prices

Oil companies are mostly based in the Middle-East because that

is where most of the oil comes from. Countries like our countries

are currently “oil addicts” and need oil so oil companies can raise

their prices really high and we will still use oil products, like gas.

If we still buy it then they make a lot of money. Oil prices rise

causing prices of everything to be more expensive, which de-

stroys the economy, because people can’t spend money, which

restricts the flow of money.
