Wait List via the Student Center Wait List via ISIS – Instructor and Department staff

Overview

Provides a mechanism for students to indicate their interest in a class that is closed and has wait list available

Allows students who encounter classes with this status to place themselves on a wait list

Student may no longer need to contact the department to be placed on a wait list

Places responsibility of course selection and scheduling on the student

Wait List Functionality

Both enrolled and wait listed classes will display on the Class Schedule page in the Student Center

Students can place themselves on a wait list while making other enrollment selections

Enrollment and wait list totals will appear in real-time

Consistency across campus departments

Characteristics

Students will need to have met the prerequisites-enrollment requirements enforced for the class section

Students will not be able to wait list if:◦ They have a hold on their record◦ The enrollment time has not been reached ◦ The wait list capacity has been reached ◦ The last day to wait list has passed

1. Department determines that wait list will be available2. Department places Wait Capacity on the Update

3. Student places themselves on a Wait List4. Department determines they will allow student to

enroll5. Department will ‘Add’ the class permission6. Student enrolls for the class

Class Permission Placed - General E-mail Message to Student  First Name – Last Name You have been given permission to enroll in (subject short descr, course

number, section number, and five digit class number). Your permission will expire at 11:59PM on (date).

  To enroll for this class, click on ‘Course Enrollment’ in your Student Center.

You will be directed to the Add tab. Your Class Schedule will be displayed at the bottom of this page. Click on ‘Add’ or ‘Swap’ to the right of the class section within your Class Schedule and continue through the enrollment process to finalize your enrollment.

  If you have not enrolled by the above date, your class permission will expire

and you will be removed from the wait list for this class. If you no longer wish to be on the wait list for this class, please go into your Student Center and remove yourself from the wait list via the Drop page. Please contact the department of this class if you have any questions.
