Hanson Vision TechnologyVision technology presents a brand new, holistic dissolution test platform for the pharmaceutical industry. These units are designed for the 24/7 rigors of the modern research, formulations, and quality control labs. The term Vision was coined by Steve Shaw, our Chief Engineer. Steves long-standing dream of a rugged, yet extremely compact 6-vessel tester has been brilliantly realized in our new Classic 6. Our new Elite 8 is a complete redesign of our popular SR8-Plus, providing a new standard for automation-ready performance dissolution testers. Both units include all new design features for critical operation and user-friendly setup, saving analysts time, hassle, and job fatigue.

Vision Classic 6 & Elite 8 Dissolution TestersHanson has traditionally offered one dissolution tester with each product platform. With Vision, we now offer two distinct choices. The Classic 6 is a rugged 6-vessel workhorse, ideal for manual test routines, space-limited labs, and budget-minded programs. The Elite 8 is an 8-vessel performance machine, built for automation and extended applications. Both units include PC and web-ready communications and can be serviced by autosamplers with fixed vessel-mount cannulas. The Elite 8 offers an automatic magazine option for inserting and withdrawing sample probes

and digital temperature probes into the dissolution media.

Vision Classic 6 and Elite 8 dissolution testers are built for easy laboratory setup, including factory-mounted spindle shafts (6 & 8, for USP spin-paddles & spin-baskets), and a rugged molded waterbath with Vision heater circulator system. Order USP vessels, vessel covers, USP spin-paddles and spin-baskets, and other accessory options separatelya la carte. Vision equipment is 115/230 V 50/60 Hz compatible. U.S. Patents.

Vision-Enabled AutoPlus The popular Hanson AutoPlus dissolution autosampling system is easily adapted to work with the Vision Classic 6 and Elite 8 dissolution testers. Version 4.0 firmware provides communication for speed, temperature, and time, as well as Auto-Mag operation on the Elite 8. Both DissoScan and Maximizer options are available, including the MultiFill collector with test tube and vial racks. Choose 6- or 8-vessel sampling capability. Connect the Vision-enabled Maximizer with 1 or 2 Classic 6 testers or with 1 or 2 Elite 8 testers, both including media replace/rinse. See page 31 for details on AutoPlus features and ordering information.

Version 4.0 firmware modifies the AutoPlus to program and work directly with the Vision Classic 6 and Elite 8 testers. All protocol test parameters are entered on the AutoPlus, providing single-point programming. (The Classic 6 and Elite 8 do not have stand-alone protocols.) Programming features include:

VesselsHanson Precision USP vessels have been an industry standard for many years. These precision vessels, manufactured of quality borosilicate glass, meet or exceed USP vessel dimensions and are an excellent choice for dissolution testing, including ASTM requirements. Vision Easi-Lock precision vessels include rugged CPVC tops for easy lock-in position in the vessel plate, and no more accidental chipping of glass vessel lids.

Easi-Lock vessels come with individual serial numbers and a USP Certificate of Conformity (COC), and are available for Hanson Vision Classic 6 and Elite 8 dissolution testers. (See HRCareASTM Program for more COC information.)p/n Description

Small Volume Dissolution AccessoriesUsed for low concentration drug formulations and other special applications when small volume dissolution media is required. Provides everything you need to convert from the standard USP 1 liter vessel and paddle to small volume testing. The 150 mL round-bottom vessel is patterned after the standard USP 1 liter vessel. The 150 mL flat-bottom vessel is used with the Hanson Ointment Cell. The mini spin-paddle is patterned after the standard USP Apparatus 2 paddle. Consult Hanson for special mini-basket and other special requirements.

The Hanson Ointment Cell is designed for use with the flat-bottom vessel to eliminate dead volume. The cell uses standard 25 mm filter disks, and its 3 mm deep dosage area provides for testing of infinite dose topical applications. Ointment Cells with convenient assembly tool and grip tool are available as a set; extra cells may be ordered separately.

SR8-Plus Small Volume Kits & Hanson Ointment CellHanson Small Volume accessories are used for low concentration drug formulations and other special applications when small volume dissolution media is required. The 150 mL round-bottom vessel is patterned after the standard USP 1 liter vessel; the flat-bottom vessel is used with the Hanson Ointment Cell. The mini-paddle is patterned after the USP Apparatus 2 paddle. Small Volume Kits for the SR8-Plus include mini-paddle, 150 mL vessel with special vessel cover (choice of round or flat-bottom vessel), and adapter for use on the SR8-Plus vessel plate. Extras may be ordered separately. Small Volume Probe Retrofit Kits (replaces the Sample Probe Kit) are ordered separately (1 per position).

The Hanson Ointment Cell is designed for use with the flat-bottom vessel to eliminate dead volume. The cell uses standard 25 mm filter disks, and its 3 mm deep dosage area provides for testing of infinite dose topical applications. Ointment Cells and convenient assembly tool and grip tool are available in kits; extras may be ordered separately.

AutoPlus DissoScan & Maximizer AutosamplersThe Hanson AutoPlus DissoScan and Maximizer autosampling systems are designed for maximum performance in dissolution testing. Complete on-line UV dissolution systems are available with the Agilent 8453 ChemStation. The AutoPlus includes precision syringe pump sampling with virtual instrument programming and graphical interface, all-in-one ergonomic, small-footprint package. The AutoPlus is an intelligent sampler with Easi-Icon programming, dissolution protocol templates, status screens with performance menus, user-prompts and help screens that are ideal for training and quick setup. The ability to change and save up to 25 protocols, easy-to-use routines, password control for 21 CFR Part 11, built-in validation, calibration, and diagnostics, plus unique advanced features are standard on all units.

Two models are available: the DissoScan and the Maximizer. Both models come in either 6-sample or 8-sample configurations (8-sample units provide standard and blank; 6-sample units cannot be upgraded to 8-sample). Both systems handle surfactants and problem media, provide easy setup for sample collection, and Auto-Archive (UV and HPLC) available with the MultiFill and include Teflon sample tubing, PEEK valves and accessories as listed. The DissoScan is a low-cost yet rugged workhorse for basic 1-bath routines. Media replace is not required because rinse media is returned to the vessel by the Sample and Return Probes with a Return Harness. DissoScan systems include 1 Teflon tubing harness (for 1 bath); 8-sample systems also include stainless probes for standard and blank.

The Maximizer is designed for extensive methods and applications, providing maximum versatility and throughput. Its an ideal system for QC/QA, formulations and R&D, including multi-bath routines, multiple standards, PEEK valves, media replace, off-line dilutions, and system rinse and wash. Maximizer systems include 3 Teflon tubing harnesses (for 3 baths or sources) and stainless probes for media replace and waste. 8-sample systems also include stainless probes for standard and blank.

Legacy DDS (Dissolution Data System)The Hanson Legacy DDS Dissolution Data System is a productivity software program for the Hanson SR8-Plus and AutoPlus system. It is designed for a diverse range of analytical techniques for USP I & II oral dosage dissolution testing, providing management of protocols and methods, automated sampling, collection, detection, data acquisition, calculations, and reporting. Legacy DDS includes client-server architecture for networking and data management, and 21CFR11 compliant security, and audit trail.

Legacy DDS is built on IDIS (Automated Lab Systems, formerly Icalis) tablet dissolution data management software. IDIS, first launched in 1992, is installed in over 400 laboratory sites worldwide, including GSK, AstraZeneca, Novartis, Merck, Patheon, Solvay, Aventis, and others. With Legacy DDS, versatile user methodology is achieved using exclusive ALS Solution Path Technology whereby dissolution testing, sampling, collection, and detection systems are readily configured.

Legacy DDS software includes an array of drivers for many popular spectrophotometers (Agilent, PerkinElmer, Varian, Shimadzu, Thermo), providing for online UV analysis with the Hanson AutoPlus autosampling system. Data manipulation, statistical analysis, and report writing are easily customized to meet specific customer documentation requirements. MicroettePlus Automated Test SystemThe MicroettePlus system provides automatic sampling from topical and transdermal percutaneous diffusion cells and collection into HPLC vials for sample analysis. Complete cell assemblies include receptor chamber and clamp, dosage wafer (300 mg infinite dose), sampling and media replace ports, outside jacket for temperature control, and Helix stirrer. Each cell includes an individual serial number; volumes listed are nominal value. Ordering 1 extra cell with each group of 6 is strongly recommended.
