Upstream (Ebb direction):

• Perfect orientation of turbine

• Low turbulence – no large scale eddies

Downstream (Flood direction)

• Very large turbulence – large scale eddy super-imposed

Very good test environment: If turbine can be controlled in both very extreme directions, understanding of technology is maximum

Due to site limitations theoretical capacity factor cannot exceed 17%
