Thordon Bearings Inc. designs and manufactures a complete range of polymer bearing and shaftline

products for the marine, clean power generation, pump, offshore and industrial markets. Thordon

non-metallic bearings offer long bearing wear life while eliminating oil and grease from bearing

applications in ships, hydro-turbines, vertical pumps and many other industrial applications. Our

customers include Voith Hydro, Princess Cruises, Sulzer Pumps, City of Chicago Water Treatment,

Michelin Tires, U.S. Navy nuclear submarines, and COSCO (China)- the 5th largest ship owner in the

world. The internal lubricants in the homogeneous polymers ensure a low, stable coefficient of

friction even as the bearing wears ensuring smooth operation. Thordon outperforms metallic and

less resilient non-metallic bearings under abrasive and high shock loading conditions, as Thordon

bearings will not “pound out” or split. Many engineers also report a significant reduction in noise

levels after installing Thordon bearings. ThorPlas-White bearings can be used in a variety of food

equipment, drinking and potable water bearing applications, where NSF 51 or NSF 61 certification is

required. Thordon bearings are easily and safely machined and installation is quick and easy.
