THE BAND CONCERT

The Metropolitan Band gave another-of its enjoyable openair concerts lastevening from the band stand in thepublic square The evening was idealthe courthouse grounds and in fact theentire square was well lighted and atleast 500 people gathered about thesquare in widely scattered groups toSear the music i

The square presented a beautifulappearance the prettiest any town inthe state can show and the scene wassimilar to the plaza of a big city insome Spanish country of the tropicsSince the new courthouse was builtthe grounds beautified and the streetspaved the citizens gather about siton the curbs of the streets the court-house

¬I steps and walks as well as onthe veranda of the Ocala House andthe children get double enjoyment outof the evening by romping about thesplendid walks of the courthouse yardand around the paved streets

The program rendered last eveningby the band was a very superior onefsnd many of those tho heard themusic say it was the best concert theboys ever gave This band is a creditto the statenot alone in Ocala It iscomposed almost entirely men en ¬

gaged in business the very best of ourleading citizens jind a few of theycunger men How and when theyfind time from their business andhome life to give the necessary time-to practice is a mystery and that theyare able and willing to give our citlrzens such music should be highly ap ¬
