New situation of China’s Trademark Work and Our response

• Since the reform and opening up, China

has made great achievements in social and

economic development while achieving a

historic leap in trademark cause.

It’s fair to say that China has ranked the first in terms

of trademark applications, trademark registrations,

and the effective trademark registrations in the

world.

Trademark strategy is an important part of

National Intellectual Property Strategy, the overall

work plan for our country's present and future is

to enhance the registration, use, protection and

management capabilities for the promotion of

economic and social development.

• I. Remarkable results achieved in the implementation of

the "Outline of National Intellectual Property Strategy",

and vigorously promote the implementation of the

trademark strategy.

• A relatively perfect system of trademark strategy

implementation has been established

• Strategic tasks of the first phase (1) legal system further improved (2) trademark examination has achieved a

historic leap (3) trademark protection has intensified

(4) giving full play to trade marks for agricultural products and geographical indications in serving the agriculture, the rural areas and the farmers

(5) Madrid International Trademark Registration was continuously strengthened, and strongly supports the implementation of Chinese enterprises “going out” strategy

(6) trademark information continued to be improved, information publication and public service reached new height

(7) actively carry out multilateral and bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of trademarks, successfully held the Asia-Pacific Symposium on Geographical Indications

• Making further progress in innovation of

mechanism for implementation of trademark

strategy

(1)we vigorously carry out pilot program for implementation of trademark strategy

(2) we set up Zhongguancun Branch Office for an independent innovation pilot site, and energetically support the implementation of trademark strategy in local areas

• II. Make the strategic implementation of

demonstration as the focal point, vigorously

promote the implementation of trademark strategy,

making all efforts to shift from a big trademark to a

trademark power

• take effective measures to fully support the

Model City, model enterprises to develop work,

and actively promote the full implementation of

trademark strategy

• Thoroughly implementing the Strategy of Trademark, completely improving our capability in registration, management, use and protection of trademarks

(1) we will accelerate the examination of trademarks, shortening the time limit of examination into 1 year

(2) we will strengthen the protection of trademark rights

(3) we will vigorously move forward with the work of increasing farmers’ income with trademarks

(4) we will strengthen the work of international trademark registrations

(5) we will improve the procedure of trademark pledge

(6) we will strengthen the infrastructure

building related to work of trademarks
