Criteria Review CommitteeCriteria Review Committee
In June of 2009 the Affiliate Council Approved the Following Recommendations Related Directly to Accreditation and Public Policy Criteria in the Roles and Functions Report
◦ Develop and support an emerging criterion requiring State Affiliates to develop and approve a member-vetted and board approved Public Policy Agenda.
◦ Retire the following criterion (#10) under Program and Services for NAEYC Local Affiliate Chapters; the affiliate has an NAEYC Accreditation committee with a chair and at least 3 members.
◦ Create optional models for NAEYC Accreditation support at the local level under a broader title. An example of a broader title could be; “Program Quality: Outreach, Support, and Accreditation” which would allow for a broader context under “quality”, and create new opportunities to support NAEYC Accreditation for Higher Education.
◦ Develop new criteria under Programs and Services requiring State Affiliates to implement a “Program Quality: Outreach, Support, and Accreditation” committee by January 2010.
