PTA Executive Board
Nominations
Believe it or not, it is not too early to start thinking about
PTA leadership for next year! The Nominating
Committee is in search of next year’s board
members. The Executive Committee Positions are: Co-
Presidents or President, V.P. of Membership, Co-V.P.'s of
Committees, Treasurer, and Secretary. All positions have
1 year terms. Please contact a member of the
Nominating Committee (Pinky Jain, Dawn Pisciotta,
Christy Frederick) if you are interested or have any
questions at pleasanthill200pta@gmail.com. It’s a great
way to be involved and meet new friends. Position
descriptions can be found at the end of this edition of
the Mustang Memo.
Fifth graders continue to work hard to help feed the hungry
with the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Last month, a group of
5th graders and their families volunteered on their day off to
package over 3,000 pounds of food at the Geneva facility!
There will be one more opportunity for 5th graders to pack
food on Thursday, February 23rd 5:00-7:00 pm. Contact Tara
Schreiner (tschreiner55@gmail.com) if you and your 5th
grader can help!

Hello, again, faithful Food Drive
contributors! Last month, we donated
885 items to Interfaith Food Pantry -
great job! Let’s keep it up!
This month’s drive starts on Valentine’s
Day, a time of open hearts and
love. With that in mind, we will be
helping our 2nd grade Girl Scouts as they
create care packages for the
Kaleidoscope Project, which helps
displaced kids find safety and
comfort. Care packages will include
granola bars, toothbrushes & bars of
soap – donations of those items will be
shared with the Girl Scouts
troop. Along with those items, let’s
stock the pantry with basics and some
extras to warm them up like: coffee, tea,
hot chocolate, low-sodium soups &
crackers, FRESH fruits/veggies,
toothpaste, Chapstick, lotion, shampoo,
bar soap and paper products.
We are so thankful for the generosity
shown by our families. You amaze us
each month. This month tokens will be
given to the classrooms that honor our
♥ HEARTS ♥ and share more.
January results: Interfaith and their
clients send their heartfelt thanks. The
following classrooms will receive the
POPPER PENGUIN tokens:
Youngblood AM, Bellanca, Keith,
Jahnke, Clubb, Murphy, Tomlinson and
Caravello - AMAZING!
Reading is always more fun together, and thanks to Chrissy DeFalco, Michelle Speers and their volunteer team, our OSOB was super fun. Thank you!
Did you ever wonder who collects all those
Box Tops we bring in and promotes other Corporate Incentives that raise funds for our programs? It’s Kirstan Wilkinson, and we thank her!
Our school now has a Culture Cabinet (donation from Mrs. Spence) located in the LLC that will highlight different cultures throughout the year and Pinky Jain has agreed to help coordinate and collect the items. Thanks Pinky!
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Our Battle of the Books team has finished 4 of the 8
competitions. Our next battles are on February 14th,
21st and 28th. Thanks to all of the students and
teachers who have come to cheer on our team. We
are currently tied 9th place overall after Round 4.
