How to be a Foster CarerThe following criteria need to be met

• Applicants must be aged over 21

• You must have a spare bedroom in your home and secure accommodation i.e. long term tenancy or homeowner

• You must be normally resident in the UK and have a good level of spoken English

• All applicants are Criminal Records Bureau checked

• You also must be willing to undertake an assessment which will include a number of visits to your home by a social worker

• You must have a commitment to attend training so that you can develop your skills as a foster carer
