Primary Igniter H437-44-2200

*WARNING:• After the Firing Head and Wireline Pressure Setting Assembly (W.L.P.S.A.) have been run and fired, gas under very high pressure will be trapped inside the tools. This pressure must be bled off before disassembly is begun. Failure to comply with the following bleed-off instructions may result in serious injury.• Safety glasses, gloves and long sleeves must be worn while bleeding from pressure off the W.L.P.S.A. The W.L.P.S.A. should always be bled in a well ventilated area.

Primary Bleed-Off Procedure:Size: 20Position the W.L.P.S.A. so that the Bleeder Disk system faces up. Locate the bleeder vent hole in the Pressure Chamber next to the Bleeder Disk system. Make sure this vent hole is pointed away from all personnel. Stand on the side of the tool away from the vent hole. Carefully remove the Filler Screw, left-hand thread. Watch the Disk Retainer while removing the Filler Screw to make sure the Disk Retainer does not rotate. Slowly thread (left-hand thread) the Bleeder Wrench into the Disk Retainer. Once the Bleeder Wrench makes contact with the Piercing Disk, continue threading the Bleeder Wrench into the Disk Retainer slowly. Do not make full rotations of the Bleeder Wrench, instead alternate 1/4 turn left, 1/4 turn right-hand rotation, etc. until the disk is punctured. Keep hands away from the vent hole at all times. When the tool starts to bleed, make an additional half a turn and then stop. Do not screw the Bleeder Wrench in tight. It can seal against the Piercing Disk and prevent bleeding. Do not turn the Bleeder Wrench to the right until the tool is completely bled off.

Secondary Bleed-Off Procedure:Do not stand in front of the tool. Always stand to the side away from Bleeder Disk/Ports. Unscrew Firing Head from Pressure Chamber (H01-36274-01) a maximum of 1.25 in. (Option 1) wait for gas pressure to release from tool.

If gas pressure does not release from tool, unscrew Pressure Chamber (H01-36274-01) from Cylinder (H01-20528-01 or H01-44131-01) a maximum of 1.25 in. (Option 2). Wait for gas pressure to release from tool. If gas pressure does not release from tool, refer to tertiary bleed-off procedure.

Tertiary Bleed-Off Procedure:*WARNING: • Tertiary Bleed-Off Procedure is only valid when using a Baker Hughes Firing Head, Size 05, 10 or 20 E-4 Wireline Pressure Setting Assembly, Primary Igniter, Secondary Igniter and Power Charge. For all other manufacturer’s equipment, consult manufacturer.

Clean any debris from the bleed hole in the top end of the upper Cylinder. Scribe a line across the thread connection between the Pressure Chamber and Upper Cylinder. Hold back up on the Upper Cylinder and slowly unscrew the Pressure Chamber a maximum of six and one-half [6.5] turns from the Upper Cylinder. Do not back off the Pressure Chamber more than six and one-half [6.5] turns.

Primary Bleed-Off Procedure:Size: 10Position the W.L.P.S.A. so that the Bleeder Disk system faces up. Locate the bleeder vent hole in the Manual Bleeder Valve Connector next to the Bleeder Disk system.

Unscrew Firing Head from Pressure Chamber (H01-44898-01 or H07-53086-01) a maximum of 1 in. (Option 1).

If the Primary and Secondary Bleed-off procedures fail to bleed-off all trapped pressure in W.L.P.S.A., store W.L.P.S.A away from all personnel for six [6] hours to allow the W.L.P.S.A. to cool. This cool down period will allow trapped pressure inside the W.L.P.S.A. to diminish to a level where a third method of bleed-off can be attempted.

Clean any debris from the bleed hole in the top end of the Upper Cylinder. Scribe a line across the thread connection between the Bleeder Valve Connector and Upper Cylinder. Hold back up on the Upper Cylinder and slowly unscrew the Bleeder Valve Connector a maximum of eight [8] turns from the Upper Cylinder. Do not back off the Bleeder Valve Connector more than eight [8] turns.

Primary Bleed-Off Procedure:Size: 05Position the W.L.P.S.A. so that the Bleeder Disk system faces up. Locate the vent hole in the Pressure Chamber. Make sure this vent hole is pointed away from all personnel. Stand on the side of the tool away from the vent hole. Slide the Bleeder Wrench Assembly over the Size 05 W.L.P.S.A. The vent hole in the Pressure Chamber must be aligned with the open side of the Bleeder Wrench Housing. Align the Piercing Screw with the hole in the Retainer. Hand tighten Piercing Screw until it bottoms out on the Piercing Disk. Secure the Bleeder Wrench Assembly to the Size 05 W.L.P.S.A. with 1/2-13 Hex Socket Set Screws. Keep hands away from the open side of the Bleeder Wrench Assembly at all times. Using right hand torque, slowly turn the Piercing Screw into the Bleeder Wrench until the Piercing Disk is punctured. When the tool starts to bleed, make an additional full turn and then stop. Do not turn the Piercing Screw to the left until the tool is completely bled off.

Secondary Bleed-Off Procedure:Do not stand in front of the tool. Always stand to the side away from Bleeder Disk/Ports. Unscrew Pressure Chamber (H02-03085-00) from Upper Cylinder (H02-10859-01) a maximum of 1 in. (Option 1) wait for gas pressure to release from tool.

If gas pressure does not release from tool, unscrew Connector (H02-01394-00) from Upper Cylinder (H02-10859-01) a maximum of 1 in.

Position the tool in a vise on the Upper Cylinder making sure the bleed hole on the lower end of the Upper Cylinder is pointed away from all personnel. Scribe a line across the thread connection between the Upper Cylinder and the Connector. Slowly unscrew the Connector from the Upper Cylinder a maximum of eleven and one-half [11.5] turns from the fully threaded position. Do not back off the Connector more than eleven and one-half [11.5] turns.
