The main object of this project is to:

To facilitate human being to detect metal.

To evolve an ideal application of MCU.

PRINCIPLEPRINCIPLE

The basic principle depends upon "Electromagnetic induction". It

works on the principle of changing of magnetic field due to

the passing of metallic object near to it.

Working:Working:In this project we use watch dog

timer(WDT) module of 16f 688 .the project is based on two

oscillators Internal oscillatorExternal oscillatorInternal oscillator is of fixed

value and the external is variable.

Cont....Cont....The external oscillator is made by

an inductor air filled coil and capacitors .

Due to internal oscillator WDT after 1ms.

In start the first value of external oscillator is store as calibrated value .

Cont...Cont...After 1ms MCU compare the new

value of oscillator with stored value.

if there is metal near the inductor, the value of the external oscillator will change.

We make decision on this comparison.

the change in oscillator is indicated by two LED.

Cont...Cont...If there is metal near the coil

value of the oscillator change. If it is greater then 2nd LED glow.if its value is less then 1st LED

glow.If there is no metal no led glow.
