Research done from Washington Post Results were as followed:
●Holocaust survivors had poorer psychological wellbeing. More posttraumatic stress symptoms and more psychopathological symptoms.
●There were no
significant differences in cognitive functioning or physical health.
●Holocaust survivors who lived in Israel showed better psychological wellbeing and social adjustment than survivors who lived in other countries.
Suicide During and After Holocaust
Study was conducted by doctors at the
Abarbanel Mental Health Center and researchers at Tel Aviv University Rate in the camps was about
25,000 suicides per 100,000 people
Researchers found that 24 percent of Abarbanel patients who were Holocaust survivors had tried to commit suicide.
